Man there's also a whole lot of disappointments in that list too.

That 2012 class was real bad. Like fricking terrible bad.

When you look at it in this format, damn our OL recruiting has been shite. Too many busts and/or attrition over this time. Frigging Stud and Les didn't do so hot. Grimes has been better with evaluation and recruiting at least.

6 guys in 2012 class in NFL with a few more from that class this year. The class as a whole may not have panned out great while at LSU but to have 6 (probably 8) from that class in the league is damn strong

So what would classify as a successful class?

6 NFL'ers who can stick in the league for 3+ years and three more who can at least make a practice squad?

To put it another way, at least 40% of your class better be professional-calibur players, or you will not have enough success to be retained as a head coach in the SEC. That's a tremendous task to evaluate the future abilities of teenagers with that level of success.

It's an NFL roster compared to the 2008 class. It's Patrick Peterson, Brandon Taylor, and then a whole lot of disappointment. Jordan Jefferson is the 3rd best player of that class based upon later performance.

I count 8 that made rosters at some point (Louis, Hunter, Vadal, Kwon, Gordon, Hawkins, Mills, Debo), with Louis the only one not sticking, unless I'm wrong. Thomas and Dural should make it next year, and I wouldn't rule out Corey Thompson if he can have a good year.

Dam this list is an eye opener!

Alot of players we thought were studs during their recruiting turned out to be duds in the end .
I know people dont want to believe the star system but other than a few 3 stars the majority of the goods ones on this list were 4 and 5 star. clifton garret i thought was a 5 star. yeah boy!

Loston looked like an incredible talent coming out of high school. Unfortunately, he seemed to injure himself a lot with his aggression.

To be fair, he had a strong season at LSU senior year.

go back and watch his HS film. One of the more impressive safety highlight films I've seen. I just knew he would be a star. Just couldn't stay healthy

With a trained eye you can see the beginning of the end for Miles was in 2010. No DT worthy of a 1st round selection since Davenport in 2009.

The mass exodus of early entries into the NFL after the '11 and '12 seasons coupled with the 2012 class being extremely weak on defense is what did him in. That 13 season had so much talent on offense that it made Cam look like a genius despite the defense dropping the ball in a few games that year. This led Miles to believe that Cam's system wasn't broken as long as he could get players good enough to run it.
