There seems to be something more in play than head-to-head games vs Bama. As a previous poster noted, LC's commitment came after we had beaten them 2X in a row ('10 and '11).

Recruits, unlike fans, dont have any reason to look at their home state schools with rose colored glasses.

Want to stop Bamas poaching, beat Bama.......that simple.

lol Hell no fool. Our best class in recent memory was after an 8-5 season. We got dominated by both UF and UGA and lost against Ole Miss, Arky and Alabama. That class was ridiculous.

yea, there is a lot more in play than 'just beat bama'. If it's as simple as just winning then they would come to LSU. If Collins, Duvall, Jones, Robinson, etc come to LSU, LSU is assured to be deep in the NC chase. I think its a herd mindset that these kids have that they know that if they all go to the same school as all the other top recruits they are more or less guaranteed to win a NC. Kind of sad way of thinking really that they choose to make an out of state school that school rather than their home school and doesn't show much heart or fight in them. They choose the easy way rather than dig down deep and show toughness.

Agree 100% with OP.

The fact that we aren't beating Bama is Les's fault.
