They are rated lower than last year because last years class was absolutely astonishing.

If you will notice, many of the players at the top are uncommitted and will stay that way until signing day. Which is normal, what is very different is how soon schools are filling their recruiting classes. That is the purpose of the camps to judge players abilities up close and personal. How many big time recruits don't pan out? Time will tell if filling out your class this early is a good thing or not. The stars are going to change by the end of this football season. Some of the LSU recruits who went unnoticed will now be in the spotlight, so their ranking will probably change.
