Kid is from the south, I’m sure he would rather go to a warm weather school

Sorry, I just mean he's been flying under the radar and a relative unknown up until now.

He's definitely the most impressive QB I feel like we have a shot at, and it doesn't seem like we're really pressing him. It's pretty frustrating to me.

He received an offer from Ohio State.

That's a pretty strong endorsement.

He also has a crystal ball to Ohio State. Must have been a good visit. Hope it’s not too late to make a play for this kid.

I was thinking we hadn't offered as he's not a dual threat, but he has an offer from Ohio State. Has Urban used a "pro" QB since Chris Leak?

Kid grew up wearing purple and gold, dreaming of being the LSU QB, throwing the game winning pass for the Tigers in the waning final seconds.

I’m sure he would rather go to LSU.

Wait . . . not "dreaming" . . . "pretending" . . . "pretending to be the LSU QB" . . . definitely NOT "dreaming."

I bet he owns LSU socks.

Hey Salviati, there's another thread on the RB where a coach was looking for a way to make the staff aware of a QB recruit. There were some really good info in that thread. Do you think we need to push him in front of the staff, or is the staff aware of him?

Alright. I just saw his Hudl video. DAMN this kid is good!! Maybe it doesn't show him throwing 3 interceptions a game? Must be some reason this kid isn't a 4-star (at least).

He throws extremely well while on the move / extending the pocket. Reminds me of Aaron Rodgers. And we all know how that turned out.

I was sold on James Foster. But if this kid is really that good, and WANTS to come to LSU, then we make an offer. (still suffering from the Akers-Etienne debacle).

I didn't start this thread because I am friends with his family. I'm not.

I was looking for underrated Texas HS QBs. Ran across Baldwin. Really liked what I saw. Realized that I played ball with his parents. Did some more research then started this thread.

I've never talked to the kid, nor talked to his parents since college. So I have no idea what discussions have occurred with LSU. I don't know for certain that the staff is aware of him, but I can't imagine that they wouldn't be. It's their job to do this stuff.

Earlier in the thread, rayballz1010 said:

Really good early eval on this kid. He is blowing up. Btw he is going to be official visiting LSU after the season.
He seems to know more about talks between Baldwin and LSU than I do. That was before Ohio State offered. So, again, I'm almost certain LSU knows all about him.

If anyone knows how discussions are progressing, I'd love to hear about it. I admit that it would be very cool if LSU offered, and Baldwin accepted.

Kentucky offered now that it looks like their former QB commit is flipping to Miami.

LSU is in an interesting spot with QB recruiting. It looks like Rogers and the guy from Alabama are the priorities. A late push may be made on Matt Corral. No way he signs with Florida if Chip Kelly is hired. He doesn’t fit that offense at all.

I think Meyer is expecting Emory Jones to de-committ so the timing could be an issue when trying to find another QB for the class. I would consider Dwayne Haskins a pro-style QB and Tate Martell the dual threat Meyer is known for.

Could be interesting if Baldwin goes there because I think Kevin Doyle(Michigan commit) and Will Levis(Penn St commit) are two other underrated QBs in this class.

The 6-foot-2 and 195-pound Baldwin, in his first year as a varsity starter, has been spectacular. Baldwin leads all Texas 6A schools with close to 3,000 yards passing. Through 8 games he had 28 touchdowns with just 4 interceptions. Baldwin has also rushed for 147 yards and 4 touchdowns in leading Lake Travis to a 6-2 record.

Could be this but OSU may be taking 2 QBs in this class (don't ask me why I don't know aside from maybe 1 of the guys transferring out next year??)

I don't think even Emory knows what he's doing at this point in time

Baldwin decommitted from Colorado State yesterday.

Visited by Canada and Daboll yesterday.

Offered by UNC yesterday.

Dude is blowing the frick up. Like I said back in August . . .

Rogers is likely to stick with TCU. Foster is likely to follow Fisher or be wooed by new FSU head coach.

I have no personal interest in this kid, just an interest in LSU. Baldwin was gift-wrapped in purple and gold with a giant Mike the Tiger bow on top . . . and what the frick are we doing? T

Worth an offer at the very least but I'm sure after the visit, it's coming soon or was given during the visit.

May come out soon or maybe they want him to come visit first and offer on the spot and take his commitment then while on the visit if he want in.

LSU is typically one good QB away from a championship.

If Rodgers sticks with TCU and Foster commits elsewhere, I may lose my mind if we don't sign Baldwin.

QB is far and away the most important position on the field in college football, and I worry that LSU is pissing away its future again this year.
