Webb served as the backup to Patrick Mahomes this past year at Texas Tech. He's a graduate transfer and plans to enroll in a school in time for summer classes.

6-foot-5, 230 pounds.

Freshman season: 226 of 361 for 2,718 yards, 20-9 TD/INT ratio.
Soph: 211 of 345 for 2,539 yards, 24-13 TD/INT ratio.

quote:

"He has a chance to be very special," Kingsbury said after Webb finished up his freshman season in 2013. "He has one of the quickest releases and strongest arms I've been around. Very smart, intellectual thinker. Processes things very quickly. Sees the field. Great at checking to the right place.

quote:

"He's really helped the young receivers and (Mahomes)," said Tech OC Eric Morris in November. "We call him Coach Webb. It's a credit to him and how he was raised."

That's the kind of measurables Cam looks for. I hope Cam talked to him after the game last night.

Wouldnt he probably be looking for another air raid offense rather than a pro-style offense?

Why? Does he not have aspirations for the next level?

Marcus Mariota was the #2 overall pick in the draft playing in a spread shotgun only offense

Is LSU on his radar and is he on LSU's? I assume so if you posted this right? I know you have connections, but curious if he has any connection to LSU at this point.

Struggling in what sense? With injuries maybe.

He's a rookie with a 91.5 QB Rating. Which is excellent (for a rookie).

Zach Mettenberger, coming out of a pro-style offense in college and is in his 2nd year in the league, has a QB rating of 71.2 playing on the exact same team.

I think this is played out now. Derek Carr, Blake Bortles, and Marcus Mariota all played in spread offenses. Check out those bastards one and two years into their career.

Webb likely transfers to Cal or something. Somewhere with an air raid attack where he can play immediately (if he graduated). Kinda like how Vernon Adams has done at Oregon. Vernon Adams is another who has pro potential IMO.

Jared Goff is likely the 1st QB taken in the draft as well (he's who I would pick).

Struggling????????????LMAO... Being beaten up behind an awful line doesn't mean you're struggling. Check his stats, they're better than Jameis Winston's and he has missed several games. Mariota is for real at the next level...
