With Signing Day right around the corner, I just wanted to see which players (if any) in our recruiting class still have some work to do before qualifying academically. We are no longer signing multiple players who won't qualify academically every year, like we did in the DiNardo years, but there are usually some guys who aren't fully qualified by NSD.

Some guys, like Terrance Toliver and Keiland Williams, get the work done and come here on time, while others struggle with the process.

Does anyone know who isn't fully qualified yet? Off the top of my head, I am fairly sure that Loston is not qualified yet although he seems to be in pretty good shape. I have also heard rumblings about Chris Faulk. Among prospects, Sentimore will probably go down to the wire. Am I missing anyone else?

I could be mistaken, but I think he was cleared after most of the other recruits, so he missed out on the first part of summer practices in 2006. However, he didn't have to sit out a year like Rockey D, Shyrone Carey, etc.

Edit: I just saw the other post. Keiland went to high school for 3 years in LA and spent his senior year at Hargrave. So he finished high school in 4 years and came to LSU.

Williams went to Hargraves because he was too old to play football his senior year...state law

So he went to Hargraves for his senior year, play football and graduate....

If Benton commits for the 32nd year in a row, I am sure that will come down to the wire as well

To me Benton is kind of like Bigfoot - I know people that have seen him and hear all these stories, but I won't believe it until I see him with my own eyes.

As posted above, KW went to Hargrave to play football his senior year. He was 19 before football season started so he was ineligible to play in Louisiana.
His delay by the clearinghouse was due to Hargrave not releasing his records because they claimed money was still owed for tuition and fees.

Loston will qualify. Faulk was in trouble but looks much better now. Sentimore (assuming we get him) may need to go to juco or hargrave. I can't think of any others that may not make it.

If he is a lock to qualify, why is he transferring to a school in LA? I can't understand why LSU would do something that has the potential to look really shady just to get a guy out of taking his state's exit exam.

That's the one thing I can't figure out. I'm glad to hear that Faulk has a better chance to qualify.

Probably been covered a million times but should Benton qualify, how many years of eligibility will he have?

I'm sure they are careful NOT to make any mistakes that could compromise the program.
