Also is it fair to tell a kid that heis LSU #1 OL commit, then ask him to pay outta-state tuition for a semester???
Of course it's not fair. That's why his parents balked at it.

Very strange that LSU would take a two-star LS as EE over a four-star OL. Also is it fair to tell a kid that heis LSU #1 OL commit, then ask him to pay outta-state tuition for a semester???

Reid will be the only LS coming in to next season and is also Vadal Alexander's team mate. He needs more time with the program as he is most likely going to get playing time as a true freshman.

Alexander>Edinburgh>Miller

Scouts have also been saying that Hawkins will surprise a lot of people.

If Miller is as important to the all the other coaches besides Gonzo, he wouldn't have been told to make other plans.

That's a pretty big oversight by LSU. Kid flies to LSU to move in, and is asked to pay his own way when he arrives, because they don't have room. In the mean time, LSU loses a big time OL to an SEC West opponent, and I highly doubt this will help LSU with players from the Palm Beach area going forward.

The main reason why I liked Miller so much is that he is from Dwyer HS and they produce a lot of big time prospects. As far as his talents, he doesn't stand out compared to the guys from this class and the last class. He is around 260 pounds right now and will take 2 years before he is ready to see the field for LSU.

He's 1 offseason away from being able to play for LSU. Which he would have participated in before his Freshman season. Patrick has a mean streak you cannot coach or teach, and he already has pretty good technique. LSU lost a good one here, no matter what anybody says. I don't see them getting another kid at Dwyer, for some time now.

He is a good one but LSU is in the business of getting a bunch of good ones on a yearly basis.

Like I said, I liked the fact that he is from Dwyer but losing a Dwyer connection would be much more damaging to a FL school than a school from LA. I seriously doubt we will be replacing Miller with a scrub to fill out the class. I expect big things in the near future.

If he would have enrolled later, how would that make a difference with the 85 cap? If so, how? And I thought the 85 cap didn't matter until August. I thought you have to be down to 85 by August of the upcoming year.

I dont see how we screwed up? He could be on scholly in June. This just means we only have 6 guys leaving, through early draft and transfers. Other than kiel was he the last of the EEs to commit?

Are you at 85 right now including your current EEs and will have more room later to add the non-EE?

He doesn't want to wait till June. We told him there would be an early entry spot available, and there wasn't. That's how we screwed up.

6 are either graduating or leaving. After the Spring semester is over then there will likely be the normal attrition game that will be played.

By MaxPreps' Stephen Spiewak

Patrick Miller, once committed to LSU, has enrolled at Auburn, Dwyer (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) head coach Jack Daniels confirmed.

Daniels told MaxPreps today that Miller was set to enroll early at LSU. However, the day after the BCS title game, LSU told Miller that it only had five scholarships available and seven players enrolling early.

LSU asked Miller's father to pay for the spring semester, which prompted Miller and his family to explore other options. Auburn, which currently has a small recruiting class, welcomed Miller with open arms.

The 6-foot-7, 270-pound Miller had been verbally committed to LSU since the fall, and was part of a loaded offensive line group that included Vadal Alexander and Derek Edinburgh.

Now, Miller joins an Auburn recruiting class that features quarterback Zeke Pike, who has also enrolled early.

The weeks leading up to National Signing Day often see a number of recruits decommit.

Last week, Top 100 defensive back Ronald Darby reneged on his verbal commitment to Notre Dame, while Devante Harris backed off his pledge to Oklahoma.

3 players said they will declare for the draft early and 1 is still deciding. 1 player is transferring.

Word is that 6 is the number, not 5.

yes LSU messed up. no other way to say it. you don't tell a guy you don't have space for him one or two days before he is set to enroll. LSU had to have known since mid december (or earlier) that jl wouldn't graduate and someone would be left out. elliot porter part II. lm will never change and that is starting to worry me for next year.

We meaning LSU, I suppose.

But what if someone was SUPPOSED to graduate in December, which would have created the spot for Miller to EE...and that someone DIDN'T graduate, and has to come back for the spring semester to graduate? Hmmm...what if?
