That is really impressive by the family to make that decision a long time ago!

The 299 batting avg in high school isn't very good but he seems to have some raw power for a sub 6 foot player. Hopefully he progresses the next 2 years

.299 batting avg with 6 homers is damn good for a 15 year old playing in the highest division in MS.. 6A baseball in MS is legit great teams and power arms. Playing against Élite talent..I'm from Louisiana and played in the Cotton State League in MS for 4 Summers those dudes were legit. Petal, Oak Grove, Oxford, Lafeyette,Meridian,Harrison Central,NW rankin, all had stud represenatives..

Was told by our mods that he didn't want to be known as the coaches son. Don't know his skill set but I honestly respect him for working his way toward he field instead of perhaps being given it.

Well, we are 5A, but I get the point you're making. We also played two big tournaments in Atlanta and Memphis taking on some of the nation's best teams and have a schedule full of 6A opponents. We went 35-1 last year but are around 24-8 this year which have surprised a lot of people considering we lost so many. We just beat Center Hill two of three to advance to quarterfinals so it will be interesting to see if Oxford can repeat.

Bianco was interviewed today on a BR radio station. He essentially said that it's been known for quite a while that none of his kids would attend Ole Miss. He and his wife want their children to go out and have their own college experience. Nice job by him to think as a father rather than a baseball coach and be willing to deal with any criticism that may come his way for "allowing" his son to play for a hated rival.

I read in the Advocate that Bianco made that decision a long time ago. Good on him for wanting his son to have his own experience.

Bianco is probably an LSU fan when they are not playing Ole Miss.

I am still stunned he turned us down when we fired Smoke. He was the guy I wanted then. His level at Ole Miss would be greatly more at LSU where there are true advantages.
