...and to illustrate why star rankings aren't always the best way to judge a class, LSU's ranking for 2015 is being pulled down because of their 2 star commit Ferguson, who is the concensus #1 Long snapper in the nation.

Its pretty awesome to have the number one overall recruit this early in the process, especially being from out of state. Could help sway other recruits that are on the fence.
He won't be #1 once players start getting bama bumps

I remember a year ago when everyone was saying LSU would sign the best class in history in 2014.
Rivals only seems to go back to 2002, but from then until now they only have 10 recruiting classes in total that would have rated higher then this one. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT!!
ETA: We would have had the number 1 class in 7 out of 13 of those years

Also a lock. The kid is as dead set on LSU and DBU as any.
Talk like this needs to die. We have almost another year for NSD...anything can happen. As of now he's set on LSU but how do you know he'll feel the same way 6 months from now? Being the best player in the country means everyone is going to recruit the living hell out of this guy. He's not a Louisiana kid too which makes it even harder to keep an OOS commit.

How do you guys feel about keeping Tolliver's commitment?
Pretty good. His hero is PP7

He is also the cousin of chris & terrance tolliver right?

His role model is PP7. That means after he signs his LOI he can talk to his idol as a mentor.

I don't want to derail this thread, but it was a very legitimate possibility. Class is still phenomenal.
Back on topic, it looks like our two committed 5 stars for 2015 are as close to locks as you get in today's world.

@ anyone who thinks any kid is a lock.

Toliver is recruiting for LSU as hard as Stud ever did

Well one of those had one L and the other had 2 Ls so I doubt he's cousins with both.

I'm just concerned that if we let this guy too near one of our other recruits, especially a skill position type guy, we may lose a recruit just cause the dude's hungry!!
I mean for F's sake that's one big HS junior!!!

Supposed to be related to Chris Tolliver I think; Terrence Toliver has only one L in his name.

He's been highly regarded for this long, yet has been committed for 1 1/2 years now. What does that tell you? It would tell me that this young man is mature beyond his years to make up his mind that quickly and not only stick to it but act as an ambassador to a university he's yet to play a down for. That screams to me of a guy that gets it.
If he were a Louisiana commit that would actually make me more nervous. The OOS guys that love LSU are the strongest IMO. Look at Deondre Clark and CG3, both OOS guys that faced a ton of pressure from friends and family yet stood by LSU. Toliver knows the power that he wields and he's using it to benefit LSU.

Both will drop down to 4 stars when they don't commit to Bama
