On3 final 2024 rankings update

I often wonder what drives these updates in player rankings two months after their seasons end? What happened to cause players to rise or fall?

But I was told BK can’t recruit and we were a doomed program because we didn’t hire Kiffin.

it's interesting that he's a 4 star WR and a top 200 player, but the only other P5 offer he has is Georgia Tech. I wonder if other schools just didn't bother offering because the big home town school had it in the bag early on

He was even an all american

I happy for all them being 5 stars. I actually feel like Caden and JuJu should at least be close to 5 stars in high 30s at minimum.

Kind of surprised that LSU managed to jump Ohio State. Wrote down the rankings before the update to compare. The only players that had significant bumps in the rankings were McKinley, Green, Reliford, and Billiot.

Big fallers (30+ spots) were McBryde, Jackson, Calloway, Singleton, Rogers, and Echols. Cobbins and Watkins also saw a double digit drop in position rankings.

In Order of On3 ranking: Rank (Change)

Top 300
Davis: 23 (-3)
McKinley: 24 (+13)
Green: 32 (+4)
Reliford: 50 (+10)
McBryde: 103 (-31)
Billiot: 108 (Previously NR, from #55 WR to #17 WR)
Durham: 116 (-5)
Jackson: 153 (-62)
Calloway: 176 (-42)
Rogers: 265 (-45)
Singleton: 281 (-47)
Atkins: 291 (-10)

Not Top 300: Position Rank (Change)

Echols: Previously 206 nationally, now #15 IOL (did not check position rank before update)
Hurley: #23 QB (-2)
Cobbins: #57 LB (-11)
Keys: #44 LB (-8)
Woodland: #61 CB (+7)
Lee: #68 IOL (-6)
Breaux: #53 DL (+1)
Cryer: #87 IOL (-4)
Watkins: #75 WR (-14)
J Johnson: #36 CB (-6)
Turner: #80 WR (-3)
Williams: #26 OT (+2)
Causey: #46 CB (-6)
D Johnson: #108 DL (+2)
Foster: #92 CB (-6)
Burrell: #2 K (0)

These final rankings are HEAVILY influenced by all-star practices. The lack of standout players at the UA Game and All-American Bowl outside of McKinley and Billiot really hurt the individual rankings of most of the list.

To be fair, OSU isn’t getting credit for Sayin because Bama still is. Silliness.

The final rankings make the most sense though. They finalize the rankings after guys go through All American practices and the games, and their playoffs. There is where you truly see them vs other top recruits.

He is ALL LSU. if you watched him when he got the offer and his different interviews after, it's clear he told everybody that.

Also, it isn't like he's just top 200. He's literally right outside the top 100 in composite on 0n3. What he did at the AA practices and game really put him up.

It's like TJ Moore. I watched those AA games without any insight on who were playing the best at the practices, or whatever outside of Dom, but TJ Moore stuck out to me like a sore thumb. He played like the best player on the field at his game. That is the type of WR Clemson has been missing, and I knew he was going to get a 5 star boost (247 and 0n3).
