Hey Guys check out a few of my year one picks and see what you think.
I looked at both Pierson and Terrell closely, but I didn't get to pick them. Glad to see it is looking good for them.

Hey pasty or dan, do the noobs ( memphis and I) get the roster for the guy we are filling in for?
Posted on 2/19/13 at 2:13 pm to PastySkankster
I'm going to go with another DE. Demetrius Cooper, Michigan State.
This will be my 3rd DE, so I will have to fill in one empty slot with a supplemental pick. Is that fine?

No, not unless one of them could be realistically considered a DT/LB and you have an open spot there.

Unless you are doing a 3-4 and one of them can play OLB, no. You have to fill a full defensive roster before you can add extra guys. None of your DEs could move to DT.

I guess Rochell could be, but at 6'5" 260?
I could see Cooper or Farria as an OLB in a 34 easier than I could see Rochell as a DT.
I would say he has to move one DE to OLB or DT (Rochell).

LOl. at you guys.
I loko at this way. Do you feel goo about feilding him at a position that he clearly will not play in college. Or have a slight chance to move there in a few years.
Liek i Said previously i dont care what you guys do. Draft 6 of the same position, move players to unrelastic position to get a loaded team.
But once the scoring system is dropped or we put some money in place then i will give a crap.
Until draft adn move him after but you have to admit to us that you are tinkering with the positions just to make it work. Dont act like we are idiots.
The rules were put inplace to have a complete team defense and offense. If we didnt abid by that purpose then why not just pick the best avilable 25 players and then watch them develop?

Yes and they are very loose and easy to follow.

It doesn't matter how carefully you pick positions guys WILL move positions no matter what they are listed at or what a coach says at press conference. I say pick players where you want to pick them as long as is reasonable(no trindon holliday at DE shite). The odds of you getting all the positions right are the same its pretty much a guarantee 0% position changes are too frequent.

That's all well and good, but that's not really what the rules state.
No one is anticipating perfection, but anyone could easily draft Eddie Vanderdoes and say he's their RG, while everyone knows he's a DT at the next level.
Everyone should be trying to be as accurate as possible with respect to all the knowledge they have with a player.
jembeurt drafted Robert Woods a few years ago as a CB and at the time he was listed as an ATH everywhere and there wasn't a ton of knowledge about where he'd go.
Obviously these things happen, but he wasn't trying to scam the system. Drafting a guy who from all reports will play a different position than which you are drafting him for is outside of the spirit of the game.

I feel you but...and see your point. I agree with your QB analogy a few days ago as well. Happens all the time. Even in our own backyard with Sheppard. we all saw his film and knew that QB wasnt going to last long.
But this is a different sort of game.
The idea is to identify talent using the web and videos etc and place them to form a great 25 man class. You get 3 Sup picks to freestyle the game and double up or move players. no one cares. just wait to those three rounds to find that sleeper and move him.
But you could pick 5 Qb adn say I am converting 3 over to WR becuas ethey have wr measurables. Oh and yes Tannehills happens. I see your point. But it takes the fairnessa nd validity of yoru scouting abilities.
If I pull up that guys film in which the college coaches and scouts used and its 90% him being a QB then what are you basing the fact that he could play WR from. Becuase he is fast and big?????? If he played in the allstar game at DT and camped at that position then why think he is going to OT. (chris Davenport happens once again i get it slim chance it will happen) but that doesnt make you great a talent evals.
bottomline its 25 teams with 25 players each we are selecting the nations top 500 players. and essentially the best 25-50 at that position. So the reality of them switching is low. We should all have pretty decent chances of finding studs.

Not this again..
realistically fill out your phuckin 22 man roster according to the realistic scheme you'll run, and then draft the extra players you want in the supplemental draft..ffs
