Had every intention of going another direction but watched this kid's tape and fell in love. So many things to like about him. Early enrollee. Multi-versed athlete. Speed. Hitting. Change of direction. Build. Strength. Instincts. Smarts. He's the total package at CB for me. Hell, he could probably play QB in the right system.

I'm taking this guy on tools alone. I liked his tape , too. I'm always leery of guys who have mostly all offensive highlights that people project to defense, but Averett has a fair share of D highlights which show he's physical player and a super freak athlete. I like Saban working with that type of athleticism. A little worried about the depth and how all that sorts out, but some of it solves itself with Eddie Williams effectively eliminating himself. Also leery of track guys not panning out, but he looks to have pretty good instincts. I think Saban can really transform him fully from athlete to DB. All the tools are there.
