Big, fast and aggressive, Jack is a threat off the edge when rushing the passer or playing the run. He does a good job of recognizing a play early and he's explosive coming on a blitz. Jack has excellent feet and balance and is tough to cut block. He uses his hands well to shed blockers when scraping along the line of scrimmage and closes fast when blitzing from the blind side. Fundamentally sound in his technique and athletic. Pretty impressive film, could probably play RB too.

He's a beast. I can't believe I overlooked him considering he's the hometown kid. I guess I erased him from my mind after he spurned UW for UCLA. That hurt

I've heard he's 6'3" and pushing 250 lbs right now and running in the 4.5s. He's originally from Georgia and moved here in middle school I believe. Mora plans to use him as an OLB. I've heard that the UW coaching staff (Sark, Tosh Lupoi, and Peter Sirmon) pulled out all the stops and had never recruited anybody harder. He just was really sold on UCLA.

If you like offer lists, you love this kid. You know him, you love him or hate him...

Suntiger selects Scott Pagano, DT from Clemson.

Interesting. Heard there's some talk of stoops wanting to move him to corner.

Wouldn't be a huge shock, but his defensive film was meh.

TDawg, what's the feeling on Joe Mathis up there? He looks really good on film. Very athletic for a big guy.

Landed Shaq Thompson for us last year.

This year we didn't get the big splash, but he helped restock our defense. Our class was ranked 13th on Scout (Not sure about the other sites. They do a terrible job of covering the NW, so I tend to ignore them). Landed a couple of 4 stars on the line too in Joe Mathis and Elijah Qualls. We had Daeshon Hall in the bag too until he did a signing day flip to A&M. That one hurt badly.

I would say that he has definitely improved our recruiting. Cal took a huuuge hit when he left. He didn't pull any miracles this year, although Shaq was his miracle pull last year. So I guess it depends on your definition of hype.

I was really close to pulling the trigger on him. The possible move to CB is what stopped me.

Stoops needs to learn not every WR needs to move to CB

The coaches are really excited for him. It's looking like he might play as a Freshman. They plan to use him in a lot of different packages (DE, LB, etc). He's a bit of a grade risk (which is why some schools stopped recruiting him), but everything I've heard is that he's on track to show up to UW this summer. I know a couple of people that have him as their #1 recruit in our class. He played really well in the Army game too.

I have a lot of UW guys that I want to pick, but I talk myself out of it on the basis of being too biased

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a few of them here soon. A couple of guys are severely underrated due to not doing the camp circuit, off the field issues, etc.
