I can't imagine LSU going into Alabama and pulling a kid away from Bama.

Why not? I live in Alabama and I see other schools pluck instate talent from here that Bama wants. FSU is a good example. Unless they grew up a diehard Alabama or Auburn fan these kids will leave this state just like ours will leave ours. Truth of the matter both Alabama and Auburn make up a great percentage of their roster from outside the state of Alabama. Seemed like Alabama signed more kids from Florida than they did from Alabama this past signing class. I may be wrong but it sure seemed like it.

I agree we have to start beating Bama's arse though to keep a few of these kids that are on the fence home.

Frank Wilson happened to N. LA.

Between 2010-2015 (Frank's tenure as recruiting coordinator) LSU signed a total of 10 North LA kids over those 6 years. I used anything above Alexandria to define "N. LA".

By contrast...the 3 years prior to Wilson (2007-2009) yielded 12 N. LA kids alone.

So an average of 4 per class compared to 1.7 per class under Frank.

He was a New Orleans guy...and did a fine job there. N. LA was not as much of a priority under him.

Then in '16 under O LSU apparently spent more resources up there and got 5 from N. LA (if you count Layton Garnett).

Last year's class was a total whiff with 0. I know they missed out on Mathis, but can't remember anyone else off the top left of my head.

And in '18 LSU is on pace to sign 7-8 even without Bolden.

Who have we lost though Solo that's worth a damn besides Cam Robinson? Those Ruston boys go to LSU if they are good enough to play there. We lost Hootie Jones and gained Jamal Adams. I'll take that trade all day.

My whole point is if you don't want to be a LSU Tiger then good luck unless you play us. I just don't think the talent has been outstanding up there. Pretty good high school ball up that way but it's been awhile since a Kyle Williams, Bradie James or Whitworth has come out of that region.

Coach Stud was in charge of North Louisiana when he was here and that is when it started going bad.

Again though OU. Who have we lost that is killing it? That OL from Shreveport that went to Notre Dame could be useful right about now. I just can't think of anyone we missed out on as of late that is making my stomach turn because he went somewhere else.

That QB from Shreveport that gave a verbal to TCU. I don't blame him. Not with the two QB's we just signed last class.

I'm telling y'all the talent in North LA has been below par for what LSU needs.

I was born and raised in North Louisiana and graduated from LSU. That makes me more a part of LSU than most of you uneducated coonasses. I know it hurts to hear that, but it's true.

Look at all the defensive players from West Monroe that did not get a LSU offer, but went to TCU and La Tech over the last 6 or 7 years.

Whether or not LSU was foolish not to recruit N. LA harder is a different question. Some would argue that LSU was right to target S. LA more.

I'm just pointing out the changes began under Frank. Stud was no doubt a part of why we struggled because he was lazy as far as recruiters go.

O has stated his plan is to "lock down" the state and go out of state for potential 1st rounders. The grey area is what does "lock down" mean exactly? Go hard after a kid like Bolden or no?

Personally, I think LSU needs to go after the most talented players regardless of where they are from. That's what Bama does. Gotta do that to go toe to toe with em imo.

And not a single one would have started much less played at LSU.

I'd be shocked to hear we didn't show more love than Bama did.

Regardless, losing him isn't nearly as important as some make it out to be.

He may or may not be that great, but he simply did not want to come to LSU. Don't give me that crap about LSU being his dream school, or growing up as a LSU fan. If any of that is true, he should be jumping to commit. What can Bama offer that LSU cannot? Truthfully, not much at all, if any. You get the boost from the media perhaps due to Saban's mystique, but other than that, LSU can provide him all the opportunity he needs to succeed. He ended up choosing Bama, he can go ahead and be processed in a year or two.

I won't be surprised when he ends up transferring to Tech or ULM

Honestly I don't think we recruited this kid that hard. I simply think our coaches feel like they have some better prospects identified and those are the ones that our coaches are recruiting the hardest. I think we are in on some prospects that nobody on this board even knows about. If our offense looks good this year then I think we finish strong on some out of state prospects.

For those that are saying this kid is not all that good is nonsense. If that team east of us wants him then their staff thinks that kid can be productive for them. I've seen the kid play 3 times and he's very good. But he's not a Fournette or Guice that we are losing here so I'm puzzled why the uproar other than he's going to a team that we haven't beat in some years.

It's not like this is a LA only ssue. It's an every state issue. Bottom line that team east of us pulls the best players from Hawaii, California, Florida, Texas and anywhere else they can find them so our staff better be damn good at identifying grown arse men that are a good fit for what we want to do on both sides of the ball. We start beating their arse here and there and some of these defections will stop.
