Your first mistake was using Rivals. Is this 2009? Use 247. Yes, we were considered the favorite before he committed to Florida in August.

Friends don't let friends use 24/7 for basketball.

I hope it happens and think that JJ should definitely go after Noah, BUT Ben Love is about as connected as you can be to the LSU basketball team and he has been pretty adamant that this class is done and that the staff wants to save the last scholly for a mid-year transfer like Victor last year. So, don't get your hopes up.

Hollingsworth does good work at 247. He's not nearly as in tune with the program as Ben Love is, but 247's basketball coverage is getting better.

I agree we didn't go after Jerreu (sp?) but I don't think we can afford to not chance this one. If LSU can really lock Montverde in as a feeder school, they will be sending us elite talent for years.

This was all before Dickerson became available and I still don't buy the saving a scholarship for a mid year transfer because that just sounds stupid.

That was before Noah asked for his release. It would be hard to pass up that kind of talent

How many other schools, is he considering?

I agree about the mid year transfer. Unless he has a specific person in mind, why wouldn't you want a 2nd year LSU PF (Noah) over a midseason transfer? Noah would be so perfect for this class it's almost sickening and I'm sure Jones will pull the trigger to lock up the #1 class in the SEC.

I'm sure there are plenty. Who knows what direction he wants to go. We still need to go after him. I doubt he comes begging to us for a spot.

Yep. That's basically the kind of comment you make to avoid the impression that you're interested in a player who is signed with another school.

Exactly. There are so many forces that make Noah to LSU the perfect match. Let's try to list them...

1. Play with recruiting top class in SEC.

2. Play with Simmons who you've played with for last 3 years.

3. Play with a coach who has had a hand in devloping big men like Shaq.

4. LSU continues to build their connection to Montverde, the best high school basketball academy in country.

5. Huge need for LSU and a build and skillset that Jones puts premium on.

6. Will have tons of nationally televised games and more scouts than you can imagine at your games.

7. Won't be a 1 and done type player so he will help give LSU depth into 2017 season.

He also said (before Noah asked for his release) that the staff wasn't confident that he was going to be available to them.

Still need to wait and see if Florida grants release, and if they do, what restrictions they place on his transfer.

Going from not covering to somewhat is nice, but I was referring to the site as a whole. They're missing a ton of prospects from their site completely, rarely update the rankings and profiles (like how is there not more articles about the EYBL tournament in Houston?!). They also only really have one guy that is dedicated to hoops nationally (Jerry Meyer).

Well, I don't know about begging, but why wouldn't he reach out to his close 2nd choice?

And to the others, it's the "a bird in the hand" type issue. If this elite talent asks to sign here, you think Jones would tell him no so we "might" get a mid year transfer? Why? Wouldn't that transfer have to sit out a year?
F that! Process someone else

All true. But they're showing improvment, so it's still a much better service then Rivals..

Speaking of Scout, can you summarize the article on TSD about Noah?
