Oh, I tend to agree...but you know what? If you don;t feel the need to make a giant show out of this whole thing and invite an entourage on national tv to simply let people know where you're going to school, you don;t get scenes like that.

Guess how many of us would have seen this had he (and everyone who does this like he did) would have simply made a phone call to Saban from his home without cameras around?

If he said that, then

Hope he can get a job in Gumpville

No way and no bias either. Look at the way he stuck his lips out and put the gloves in her face.

How do you know what goes on in their household?

How do you know what his family went through with his recruitment? Maybe they see a bunch of bullshite going on?

I felt bad for his mom. He obviously hadn't made it known to her ahead of time that he was going to Bama. The whole family seemed kind of in shock initially. He even basically denounced his town and said he is from New Orleans to make it seem less bad that he was defecting

That seemed to be the type of reaction..

I agree.

A lot of smoke that LC was telling people on both sides what they wanted to hear (including his parents, unfortunately). Whatever happened will eventually get out, but right now, it doesn't exactly make LC look good.

Thing is, of I were ever to be in a situation and pull a stunt like that, I'm pretty sure my momma would've done the exact same thing. Though, I definitely wouldn't have done it in this manner.

Mom's want to watch their kids play.

Also we don't know all the shite behind the scenes. It would hurt my feelings as a parent if my kid skipped the powerhouse right down the road for no better of a situation 6 hours away.

There is absolutely no ties to go to Bama or any great advantages. So it has to feel weird to just see your kid leave.

I felt a little sorry for the boy.

Seems the chick had a bigger hold on him than I could ever imagine. I cant believe she was even there

Bad decision, the college decision and also the whole decision to show off by flashing the gloves.

And his family completely disagreeing with him really did not help the cause either.

This made me re-think if I even wanted the kid to come to LSU or not.

the lack of support by LC's family made me feel badly for him

Count me in.

I thought the same thing when I saw the whole thing transpire. Obviously, no one knows the whole story behind the scenes but it did seem that the biggest moment of his life (to date) was tarnished by his family's reaction. Can't imagine my parents doing the same thing. Then again, my Mom didn't look young enough to be my sister.

They current meltdown on this board is similar to the mood swing of the Bayou Bash when Joe McKnight announced. LSU still did OK without him.

Family should support no matter what. Simple as that.

They're pissed because they probably have a pretty good idea what he just pissed away long term. Might seem selfish on their part but they know he would have been taken care of in LA no matter how his career turned out. Look at Chad Jones...he's getting the hookup after his accident due to his loyalty to the State school.

I agree with this. Family should have put their personal feelings aside and supported him.

Why? If he was my son or brother I'd be totally hacked off and I wouldn't sugarcoat it either. The reason you see other families support the player is probably because the recruiting process has run it's course and everybody is resolved to what is taking place. In this case the process is obviously not over. His mother's reaction is all you need to know that. It's his fault if he's alianated his family with a bad decision. If he can't change their mind then he should consider changing his mind. They're mad for a reason. The reason is probably the fact that it's a poor decision by him.

I think that it is possible the mom feels Landon is choosing Alabama because of the girlfriend and is concerned he will regret this if they dont last.

She also could feel spite if she feels he is choosing the girlfriend over her. Either, even as diehard LSU fan, it would have been better for her to support her son on tv and workout her issues with his decisions while the cameras are off.

Dude. It's a message board. Is this not the place where people can share differing opinions?

Kinda self-righteous don't you think?

Message boards are inherently self-righteous. It's kind of self-righteous of you to feel the need to share your opinion, just as it was for me to start this thread.
