sorry after following that LC thread for weeks in anxious anticipation of his announcement. I watched and frankly was embarrassed for all involved. I know he is a quality player but i think we are better off witout him. You don't WANT to be at Lsu you better off being where you want to be.

Not trying to start anything, but if it is meant to be, it will happen. He is an 18 yr old kid trying to decide where to spend the next 4 years of his life. If he chooses Bama, that is his choice. If he switches to LSU, that is also his choice, but critizing a kids decision is wrong. I just hope that wherever he ends up, it is his decision and not the decision of idiots around him trying to get him to do what they want him to do!

Quit wasting time on these 2! After that Monday game, Les is wasting his time thinking they would switch now. Les is goofy

So in your opinion, we should just give up on a recruit the second they commit to another school and Les is an idiot for trying to convince him to go to LSU. Solid strategy.

Oh, and women talking about recruiting.

We know where LC will end up. After Monday his mother should scold him if he doesn't go with saban. On Monday, we lost all hope for LC

So, maybe Les and Frank should sit with GF and Landon and talk the GF into LSU. Makes sense to me.

Yeah we should give up on the number 1 recruit in the state and top 10 player in the country that has a family that is 1000 percent LSU and he's flaky as hell. Yeah, let's just fricking quit.

You realize recruits dont usually make their choice off who won a game right? They make it off of how they fill about the coaches, the campus, the atmosphere, the tail. Their have been multiple times recruits have committed on a visit even though the school they were visiting lost.

Yea, Les Miles or Nick Saban?? Les Miles embarassed LSU in front of the whole country, that's who I would play for!

This will be a situation where the GF will be driving the range rover and the player will have one also

Besides you being a jackarse, that game had no effect on recruiting IMO.
Recruits see the game completely different than fans. LC now won't be so special going to fresh off a NC Bama whereas he'd be the king in Baton Rouge.
Still a slight chance.

Lots of fail in this thread. You never stop trying to get the best player in your state. If you have that attitude as a program, other coaches will think they can come in and cherry pick the best players out of your state.

I agree with you. It's a shame that recruiting has become such a soap opera with fans scrutinizing the moves of teenagers, to either lionize them as patriots of the local cause or demonize them as traitors. It really should be a matter of kids just being allowed to make the best choice for themselves. Regrettably, Rivals, Scout, ESPN, etc. all know how passionately we will follow this, and have ingeniously made recruiting into the money-making soap opera that it is... and we lap it up. I'd be lying if I said I didn't spend/waste a lot of time checking in here for new tidbits of info-- especially in the days leading up to Collins' announcement.

Regrettably for Collins, his decision is no longer so simple. His assets are deemed valuable to the point that people are going to tell him absolutely anything to influence him. For him, it's probably a little tough to know who is shooting him straight and who is shoveling shite. Friends, family, girlfiend, coaches, fans, etc. all have an agenda. It's not breaking news to say that the most upsetting thing to many LSU fans have is the perception that some people who are very close to him are basically bama agents, which may be true, though I'm not qualified to say; the end result being that Collins really did decide that LSU was the right place, only to have the machinations of those people cloud his judgment.

In any case, Collins is a lucky, gifted kid, who is fortunate to have options, but has a tough decision to make. I may be wrong, but from what I've read about him, I don't get the sense that he's selfish and relishes pulling people's chains (I did think Joe McKnight did enjoy doing so a couple years back); I suspect he regrets knowing that whatever he chooses will end up disappointing at least some people who matter to him.

For my part, though I don't expect it, I'd love to see him change his mind and decide LSU. And if he does, as you suggest, I hope it truly is his decision. If it stays bama, hopefully it was really his decision, too, and not of those close to him. I won't wish him ill in any way if he stays with bama, though I won't be cheering for him either.
