I think it's case to case basis. It's tough to travel all over the place during the season but I would think the benefits would be great considering the state of lsu and monroe/west monroes relationship last year

True, but it's about investing - you find rewards later from that investing. Got to put in that work with at least someone from LSU.

How many coaches do you have and no one can drive 3 hours once in 10 weeks?

Exactly. This why you must be there. Maybe break the current mold and do some extra work

They're allowed to make 42 total trips to "evaluate" players, whether it be at practice or games, between September and November and can not see any player more than once. If two coaches make the trip it counts as two of the 42. It also has to be officially logged, and I'm not even certain juniors can technically be the ones they are evaluating.

Lawrence went to a bunch of games this year so I think they're in pretty good shape but they don't need to take it for granted. There is plenty of talent in the area to keep them busy. Who is assigned this area now? Ensminger? Anybody know?

Yeah because clearly Bama recruits this area harder than LSU

Watched him play at the dome this weekend. The other nose guard for Neville was very comparable in talent

I can't really disagree with this. Courtney Wallace is the other guy. He is commited to Texas Tech. It could be argued that he had a better season than Lawrence. However, Wallace is a senior and Lawrence is a 16 year old junior. The upside is greater with Lawrence. You can see his imporvement in every game he plays. I expect him to be dominant next year.

I figured that is all that you saw. They typically run a four man front and he is in for 80-85% of the plays. They ran a 3 man front in the state championship to contend with the Warren Easton passing game. He was in for about 50% of the plays. He was rotating with Courtney Wallace. With that being said, he still had two sacks in the game and was very disruptive.

Texas Tech must really want Tyron Johnson since they sent 8 coaches in one trip.

That was during the contact period, not the evaluation period. Johnson is a senior, not a junior. You're comparing apples to cheeseburgers.

ETA: That doesn't mean there aren't ways to work around the rules or do things in the gray area, but it just shows it isn't as simple as "LSU doesn't make an effort to come here", "LSU takes the area for granted", "it's a South Louisiana/Frank Wilson conspiracy" like some of you want to believe.

So why no visits during the contact period? Why not schedule the visit with Turpin or Wallace, seniors that will sign D1? As stated earlier in the thread, it's not about 1 kid, but programs.

Still can't stand them. TCU on the other hand has definitely risen up my list of teams to follow since they have 4 WM players.
