Bleacher Report has been releasing a series of webisodes from the Elite 11 daily, with Thursday’s focusing on the combine interview session, where Brennan shined. Elite 11 organizer Brian Stumpf said Brennan’s competitive nature is second to none.

Former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer described Brennan as “intense. Jaw clinched.” It was at the end of the session — with a spot at this week’s The Opening Finals in Beaverton, Ore., on the line — that Brennan made “the promise.” “I’ve kind of been the underdog throughout this whole recruiting process in general. I come here, same type of thing and it fires me up,” Brennan said. “I’m going to earn that spot in Oregon. I can promise y’all that.”

As Dilfer described, Brennan essentially “dropped the mic” and walked out after that. “Hair stood up on my arms when he walked out of the room,” he said. “I’m like, yeah, that guy can lead my team.”

Most casual observers to recruiting had no clue who this guy was until he qualified for the elite 11. Even after he committed, most thought he was just the other guy in the class at QB and that Narcisse was the future starter with a path clear cut for him to take the reins. Since his uptick in national recognition brennan has consistently Proven his initial underrating and is out to prove hes not just a four star worthy recruit, but one of the best in the nation worthy of five star status, and while I think he falls just short, after he has been labeled as a guy with the best footwork and pocket awareness at the elite 11 semis, were talking about someone whos put in so much from a technical standpoint that a guy like Narcisse could be an afterthought next to brennan, while I hope both succeed and play for the tigers, ultimately I think one transfers due to lack of playing time. I hope not and think we could win with both under the right coaching, but the more I see brennan the more I see a young man with a right and smart mind on his shoulders given his age, with a chip on his shoulder and drive to lead and be the best he can for the game, not just for NFL futures or popularity, but because he wants to be the best he can for himself and those around him. Loving this guy more with every headline I see.

I do find it funny guys who didn't even attend the elite trials are 4 stars and this kid gets to the into the actual final group and still is a 3 star I guess its good because this kid is motivated.

Who cares what he is ranked or how many stars he has... He is a baller, no doubt! Brimming with confidence. Something we at LSU have missed sorely, a QB that is not scared and is fearless.

I think Lowell is fearless also. No matter which one ends up starting, they will both get their chances to lead the LSU offense eventually. I can't wait.

This is the year we start winning NC's, into the future...

I started watching the video too soon and saw that everyone wanted to be led by Hunter Johnson. Saw his accolades, and then checked the TD / INT stats for last season.

Johnson 31/12
Brennan 53/8

He can't be overlooked much longer. Was #22 Pro QB on 247.

With Johnson it's not about high school numbers, it's about everything else. Dudes got ideal everything. Arm, size, mechanics, touch, accuracy, footwork. He's even a good runner. Dudes the prototype QB.
