This had to help us with: Brown, Ward and maybe even Evans. What you guys think?

Great Win

Definitely helps that our defense, especially our line was dominant. It definitely can't hurt our chances

This too, Mullen just quit on his team. You wanna play for a team that their coach just gave up on or a team that went into a ranked team's home and didn't let them find the endzone?

If you are Quay, you get to line up next to Freak and form a dominant duo. Channing gets single-blocked due to those two in the middle and there ya go.

Richie unfortunately is a secondary option right now. Nick James, you better hurry up and switch schools before you lose your spot if you want it

I liked how the MSU players kept trying to pump up the crowd, but didn't and the players got pissed.

Who wouldn't wanna play for fans like that??

Or come play at one of the most, if not THE most feared stadium in the nation

THis loss definitely helped. But it will help even more if Mullen leaves after this year.

Atmosphere was electric, game wasn't the way state wanted it, but how many here really think that a W/L in one game weighs in on the decison of an 18-19 yr old kid?

They look more at what cool uniforms teams where than single games.

It can't hurt, but unless they visit, it doesn't help either.

Is that why the coaches and players were desperately trying to pump them up, even getting mad at them a couple of occasions?

It's not just that, its the pissy attitude Mullen had after losing last week (just shake his hand and admit you got beat by the better team) and then putting in Russell and basically telling his team "Lets hit the showers early".

One week, a poor sport, the next, he gives up on his team. Meanwhile, you see a team that loves playing for their coach and comes out of that tunnel ready to kill. I don't care if you are from Mississippi, LSU showed a whole lot to you as a defensive prospect and Mullen has showed his character two weeks in a row. If I'm a defensive player, I'm chomping at the bit to play for LSU

I couldn't help but laugh every time I saw Mullen waving his arms up trying to pump up the crowd. Maybe I just haven't seen him do it, but I'm fairly certain that Les doesn't do that shite.

FIFY

It is easy to see why kids like playing for Les over some other "name" coaches.

I agree the last drive was lame and was basically Mullen throwing in the towel, but I don't get why people think putting Russell in was giving up. I think he just wanted to see if a different look would soften up the D a little. It wasn't like Relf was doing anything anyway.

Does it help that LSU fans were shouting "This is our State" at the end of the game.

I think we've only lost 3 games in the state of Mississippi in the last 15 years...

Well in that case, we got the advantage considering MSU's uniforms look like something from Conference USA

Oh, and Landon Collins just needs to get his recruitment over already...he knows he wants to join his boy Eric Reid in the defensive backfield and wreck havoc

No and I'll tell you why. Mark Richt will be fired at the end of the year. If Mullens could have beat Auburn or LSU or bama or ArKansas this year, he would likely be hired at UGA and Moo State recruits would look elsewhere. Now, Gus Malzhan will likely be the new coach at UGA and Mullins stays at MSU.

I'll take the win every day of the week though, because I don't think too many recruits look at one game win/loss when it comes to what school to go to.

the TV analyst thought the QB change was because Russell is a better passer and there was not enough time left to run a lot.

He'd be a great replacement for Taylor, who is a great player.

I don't think it mates with Evans and Ward. I just don't think they leave the state. As for Brown im sure it didn't hurt. Hard to be upset over seeing a D give up 180 or so yards to a SEC team.

One game doesn't matter....been proven time and time again in recruiting. If that was the case, we would have gotten these kids by now. Cool uniforms, number of girls on campus, proximity to home...those are more important to these kids over one game
