I watched the game yesterday and Mett needs plenty of work, I don't see him starting next year.

Does this start next season, so 3 full football seasons, or would it start Jan 1 since he will be a student and we will have him for 3 calendar years?
In other words, if he plays the bowl (hypothetically) would that count as a season?
