He's a winner. He's smart. He has decent mobility. He has good arm strength. He is willing to redshirt and be a team guy. He provides immediate emergency depth.

Because if we have the same season OSU had last year then our starting QB would be John Diarse.

He's a two star 177lb QB who is "dual" threat but was getting replaced by the running QB on his HS team for MANY plays.

That dude is never setting foot on the field for LSU. His credentials make AJ's incoming credentials look like we'd landed the combination of Brady, Manning and Vick.

Surely, LSU, if it wants a QB, should be able to do better than a 2 star 177 pounder.

You didn't ask for my evaluation. You asked for my OPINION of the rationale.

No?

Anytime LSU can take a project QB from Texas, they should do so.

Nick Foles, Case Keenum, Andy Dalton, Matt Stafford, Andrew Luck, Christian Ponder, RGIII, Drew Brees, Ryan Tannehill.

I thought so too, but a 2 star, 177 pounder is all we got so.. It looks like our one requirement was a heartbeat. I know nothing about McMillan and am only going off the recruiting services but for the life of me I can't figure out why in the world we could have a problem signing a QB this year of all years.

Coaches are probably tired of top QB's not showing up, getting drafted, not being good, getting arrested, etc. and not having a backup plan in place. I think he is a guy likely to be loyal to the program for 5 years and that has some potential as well.

Who gives a frick about his stars or weight? Do you think he won't gain weight? Let's look at rankings before we recruit anyone. I know nothing about the kid, but come on with this shite!!!!

LOL.

True.

I get that we need a QB but signing a QB that will NEVER play a down as a QB doesn't seem to actually fill the bill.

I look at it like this. He's been a winner throughout his career. He has had major talent around him, but it'll be the same at LSU with the loads of skill players on offense. He seems like a very smart and determined kid that already came out and said he wants a year to redshirt and learn the system so he can be best prepared for the offense when it's his time. I think he's being overlooked only because he's not a 4 or 5 star stud according to the services.

FYI-the guy who replaced him played in ONE game (the title game) the whole year. If you saw that kid, you know why. McMillan was THE man on that team and won two straight titles at the highest level of HS football. Don't try to strip the kid's achievements from him because he earned them. You have know idea what he's capable of in two years. The kid has a live arm and decent size and better than average mobility. I'm happy we took him.

Um, you guys happily get excited when we recruit a 5 star kid but want to ignore when we recruit a 2 star one for a key position that we REALLY need help at?

This dude has to gain 20 pounds to be a relatively small SEC QB. He's never going to play a down for us. The difference between landing McMillan and landing zero QBs this year is almost non-existent.
