he looks very certain about a decision (whichever school that may be). but i think Mississippi state is out of the race. LAst night newman was asked if the new coach at state would have an impact on his decision he said "not really at all"

I think he's just waiting to see the UK decision to make it final, but I think he wants to go to LSU

He's been playing the game all along, he was smiling through that entire interview.

Did you hear the announcers say that Malik was ready to go pro now, along with 5 others in the game, including Simmons.

If he WANTED to go to LSU, I think he would've committed already. Wouldn't need to wait and see what happens at UK.
I think he either
A) will go to UK depending on who leaves, and after that is figured out, he already has a school like LSU pegged as his backup if people don't leave
or
B) hasn't made up his mind yet

It was a poor question, but I think his answer was to the question of whether or not the fact that his father played at MSU would factor into his decision

Write up on Aaron Harris: (IMHO He's not leaving)
Aaron was the second-leading scorer on Saturday with 15 points. He was 3-for-8 from beyond the arc and got the team rolling coming out of the gate. When Harrison is hitting 3s, he looks like a potential first-round pick or a second-rounder. When he isn't, there's very little else that he brings, from an NBA standpoint, to the table. So far this season, he's shooting just 27 percent from behind the arc, and like his brother, just 38 percent overall. Those are awful numbers for a player whose main calling card is supposed to be shooting.
"If he was a more consistent shooter, I could see it," one NBA scout said. "But he's not. He's streaky and he doesn't have anything else to his game that really screams NBA to me. I think both of the twins are still living off an inflated reputation coming out of high school and a few good games in the NCAA tournament last year. Neither one is on our Big Board right now. I think they claw to get on a summer league team as undrafted rookies."
Andrew Harris:
The push for Andrew Harrison back in the Top 30 took a little bit of a hit this weekend after two fairly unimpressive performances. He averaged as many turnovers as assists in games against West Virginia and Notre Dame, and shot just 2-for-8 from the field. On the plus side, his two made free throws with six seconds left gave the Wildcats the win on Saturday.
Andrew Harrison continues his resurrection as a potential first-round draft prospect with a stellar performance against Hampton with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists one steal and zero turnovers. He also shot 2-for-3 from behind the arc. His play against Cincinnati was a bit more uneven, though he made several NBA type drives to the basket and finished his second straight tournament game without a turnover. If he keeps playing like this through the rest of the tournament, he's going to move back into the mix as a possible first-round pick.
The Harrison twins would be much higher if their shot selection and shooting percentages were better. Andrew, especially, has played much better toward the end of the season, and another strong tournament could push him back into consideration for the first round. He has great size for his position and is a terrific defender.

I think you are right on both counts about LSU and UK. He made a comment maybe last week when asked about his upcoming choice. He said a team having "bigs" would be a big help to him. I think that was in the same conversation where it was alluded that his decision might be influenced by what UK's guards do after the season. Anyway, I took that to be a concern if M&M both left and since that time they have both declared... FWIW

I'll give the best advice I can on Newman......Nobody F'n know what the kid is gonna do. Stop trying to read into every comment and story about the kid. He'll announce soon enough. I hope like hell we land him but if not we have a loaded back court and a lot of good players to make the tourney next year.

Not necessarily at all. Kids like for the most part, it's purely a business decision. He has mentioned multiple times about how great it would be to play with Tone and Ben, but it's not that easy. UK churns people out like a factory and they are by far, hands down, the most high profile college basketball team. So even if he WANTS to go to LSU, it's not that simple.
