Yeah Winston is definitely gone after next year but its still a huge push for the opportunity to play with a Heisman winner.

we have a coach now who will churn out some really good quarterbacks for us .. we will get Dupre' the ball
I sure hope you are right. I definitely think Harris will be awesome for us but Jennings is scaring me right now.

Geez how hard is it to realize jennings was making his first start as a TRUE freshman. Thats unprecedented at lsu.

52% completion 7 td 13 int matthew stafford true freshman

He turned out fine.

LSU's bowl game objective - win

Going back and watching the bowl game, it was really obvious that LSU felt they had a matchup they liked in our run game vs Iowa's run defense. Given that and paired with a freshman QB making his first start, we weren't going to give Anthony any more than he could handle. We basically lined up, predictably at times, and straight owned the line of scrimmage. They knew we were going to run, we knew it, everyone watching knew it and we still executed.

My point : Jennings is a game manager in the mold of matt flynn and matt mauck. He won't be asked to be more than that and when he tries (like mccarron against oklahoma) he will get exposed. Next year will be a good year for us. Our schedule is as weak as it has ever been and that is by design. Anthony will be a work in progress but he has the tools and the coordinator and the line (if collins and trai returns) to be in every game.

We did what we had to do against Iowa. If you want to see gawdy numbers... you'll have to wait until Brandon Harris steps up to the plate.

Auburn will lose some lineman and dbs

ole miss will be at home and a good game.. watch to make sure all their guys stay academically eligible

UF - no quarterback and very little depth

Wisconsin - idk much about but we have 7 months to prepare

Every word is accurate.

Some people, especially LSU fans, have a tough time realizing that this is our philosophy. We don't care what we look like, we just intend to win.

As things stand with Malachi, I will say that both his comments and actions indicate he is strongly considering LSU. With the other NOLA kids, I'm not sure how true that ever really was. However, it just seems like he really likes FSU, and you can;t beat the momentum they have. I say LSU, but with very little confidence, as I am still pretty shaken from 1/2.

Careful, stones, glass houses. Quality depth was a huge problem for us this year at several positions. If we cant figure the Jr exodus soon that will continue, you cant recruit against the loss of that much talent and hold serve.

Good thing is, LSU has gotten like 95% of the John Curtis kids that they've wanted since the Saban era. If these guys pass on LSU, you really know something is up

Care to shed more light on this? We only had one guy ruled out of our bowl game due to academics and he was a senior. Are you predicting future bad grades?

I'm predicting that they gambled with the last classes and I will be surprised if all their big names remain eligible

UCLA is loaded at WR and until he visits ..

As a UCLA fan, I can only wish. We start 4 WR's essentially. (Lack of a FB) and not a traditional TE role.

And he's coming with the rest of the JCC crew the last weekend of January.

This may be germans but just saw this:
quote:

Two other Florida verbal commitments, Homestead wide receiver Ermon Lane and Immokalee athlete J.C. Jackson, have been long rumored to want to play together with Cook. Each were once committed to Florida, but Lane is listed as uncommitted, while Florida State and Miami continue to pursue Jackson. Most analysts believe FSU is in the driver’s seat for both recruits at this time. Lane has scheduled his official visit to Florida State for the last weekend and Jackson could join him.
LINK

Now I think MD can succeed at any program anywhere and is better than Lane, but with FSU already oversubscribed, according to this, they'd have to make room for Lane with 2 scholarships, in order to complete the Florida sweep.

I really, really want MD to come to LSU, there's space for him to start early and get PT, and in specifically in this class. Of course, UCLA in my mind is the bigger threat than FSU, simply because it is so different. But it is a LONG way off (if we hear it all the time for Cali recruits, it goes both ways). SEC is transitioning to an offensive league, SEC Network. Most of all, EVERYONE sees SEC games nationally. By the time West Coast games get started, the East Coast is in bed, and it's getting late for us. So TV exposure is better for LSU.

But that's just arguments for us. Whatever he decides, he seems to be doing it right up to this point. I would prefer he decide one way or the other before NSD, so either school has a chance to get someone else, that's all I ask. Especially if they know already.

I disagree. He was asked to come in and win a game - in his first significant action in college - and did.

THEN, he had to hear for a solid month - "Stay within yourself, don't force anything, don't lose the game." That clearly had him playing tight in the bowl. Even then, he still showed some flashes - but when he gets the nod (IF he gets the nod) - I think he will be excellent. A QB who can extend plays and make first downs with his feet will be a good thing - first real dual threat since Perrilloux.

comments like this make people sound bitter and uninformed.

Why does long history matter given that teams, you change coaches and offensives over time? Sumlin is running a very different offense than A&M ran under RC Slocum.

know this, if he loved LSU that much, he would be a commit

Let's assume you're correct, why would he have spent so much time at LSU, unofficially?

And, as far as committing, a kid can't have his moment? It has always been known he wanted to take his visits and make a big announcement.

quote:

since he's not it means he is wide open and if thats the case why would he not go to FSU?

Because that's a long way from home? If he's "wide open", as you say, why would he not go to LSU? Our history of not producing NFL wide receivers? No, that's not it. He wants to play early? No. He'll have a chance to play early at LSU.

Now, I'll grant you that I'm always skeptical of Curtis recruits - despite all the defense the alum have brought here - but that is independent of the actual kids. I don't think JT is a big fan of LSU, but I don't think he actively blocks our recruiting efforts, either.

I think Dupre commits to LSU, but he hasn't yet. It happens.

That needs to be discounted. Hootie and Tony Brown were at most of the home games this year.
