Lynx

What do you think of JJ in his Jr. and Sr. seasons? Maybe I'm just looking thru P&G sunglasses. But I see a kid out there.

To all you who wanna argue with me, how did Jamarcus, Matt F.,Matt M., Tim Tebow, or even Peyton Manning do as starters in their "
true" Sophomore seasons? I'm not talking their 1st seasons starting or even playing "some"; I'my talking about their "true" Sophomore seasons.

Oh, BTW Lynx, great, great job on the evals. This year is even better than last year...and that's saying a lot!!! Thanks for all the hard work my man!!!

i agree, but JJ did not show any signs of getting better. looked the same in all games. shows no emotion and no leadership. i'll b happy to admit i'm wrong, but with flynn, tebow, etc. there was improvement and leadership improvemet.

That system is not set up for younger players to be successful in. He will get better this year even with Crowton but I dont know how much better he will get in this difficult offense.

Showing emotion has nothing to do with leadership. EVERY player that's spoken about JJ's leadership, has said he's a great leader.

Damn if I don't stand corrected then. OK, other than the best ""college" QB ever. You get my point...."I think."

What...he barely played. Hell, he didn't play until the Capital One bowl, where he basically just handed the ball off 5-10 times.

all those before JJ had a pretty damn good QB Coach. Jimbo may not have been the best play caller, but he did well with his QBs and most-importantly taught them how to be confident.

JJ looks neither confident nor comfortable during the game. 95% of the time at least.

I do think JJ has shown improvement from the start of the year to the end. There is still room for him to grow, obviously, but to think that a 19 yr old can't develop is just goofy. The rare 19 yr. old might have the composure people on here are looking for in JJ, and citing the absence as proof that he will never be a good QB, but most 19 yr olds improve dramatically in their mental development. IF JJ gets good coaching (here's hoping Gonzales can provide it), then he could get much better.

Not Lynxcat, but...

JJ appears to have no awareness of basic football. His management of the game shows that he has no feel for situational football.

There were several examples toward the end of the bowl game, the most glaring being his decision to wait over twn seconds after we were lined up to call for he snap on our next to last play. There simply is no excuse for having no awareness of the clock.

Throughout the season, he has thrown passes well short of the first down marker when we had little time and no TOs...on several occasions he has not made the effort to get 1st down yardage on critical plays, but instead slid down or ran out of bounds.

In most games he has had a stretch of good play, but in all games he has had a stretch or really poor play.

He has no feel for the pocket...

IMHO, there is little chance that he will be a good QB, no matter how many starts he gets. He just does not have the instincts of a good football player

Obviously, our coaching staff has similar issues.
