I have no idea who is good and will be inn the portal. But our glaring needs are once again:

It looks rough next year because of the young players

More like 1, maybe 2. Johnson and Alexander will be back next season. Stamps, Hughes and Welch will all be back. There’s also Toviano, who while a more natural Safety has proven he can cross train at CB and play Nickel and Dime. You also have 4 more guys coming in with this class, assuming the ATHs do end up at CB. At least one will.
Now I could see someone like Welch look around in the portal, but we just don’t have that many spots available at the moment. And we are no longer behind on overall roster numbers, so we can’t just take an unlimited number of guys.

Welch needs to go somewhere he has a chance to get PT. He has not blossomed at all here even though he was highly rated. Best of luck to the young man...

I got downvoted into oblivion when I said this right after they fired Jimbo. We had a better chance before he was fired.

Meh. There was never going to be some mass exodus, but a few kids always leave during a coaching transition, especially if it’s a meh hire. I think some kids could see Rhule that was if it’s him. It just remains to be seems who they will be.

I don’t disagree, but my point stands. We aren’t bringing in a bunch of portal CBs unless more than just Welch head out. Right now I would expect the staff to look for one guy who’s been a reliable starter and a good character guy.

I don't know how many openings we will have. I'm sure BK has a plan about filling the roster considering freshmen, transfers, those leaving and getting to 85.
