Looks like LSU is taking a look at this kid. Watched him for the first time against Ellender the other night and he looks legit. Could be a really nice piece for the Tigers in a couple of years.

"Both Greg Williams and Jacob LeDoux chipped in 18 points on efficient shooting nights, with Williams relentlessly attacking the rim and scoring nine points at the free throw line.

Williams continued to make highlight-worthy plays for the Knights, taking a steal in the first half (he finished with four steals) and hammering down a dunk to get the packed house onto their feet."

For some reason, that awful paper is behind a paywall, so the link doesn't work. LCA seems to be pretty loaded with basketball talent. Galen Alexander is there but must be sitting out this year for transfer reasons.

They need to check out Christian Edwards at Washington Marion. 6'5 205 only a Junior. He's the #1 high jumper in country for the 2017 class. Averaging 16 points, 12 boards, and 3 blocks per game. He took it to LCA and led WM to 1 point victory over Madison Prep which included a game winning slam with 3 seconds left.

Greg Williams is a 6'3" sophomore with excellent skills. He's been getting interest from schools for several years now (even before HS). I'm not sure where he will end up but I know he's had some interest from some very good Basketball schools. The LCA coach (Byron Starks) tries to take the team to at least 1 sometimes 2 college games each year, either UL or LSU or both if possible.

Any team that gets him will not only get a great basketball player but also a great person. He was also a really good QB for the middle school team at LCA but his dad will not let him play football in high school for fear of injury (LCA's O-line, like many 1A schools, is undersized and present a problem for the QB in terms of being hit).

He play for USL back in the day. Also played in Europe for a while. I think it was looking like he was headed for the NBA but an injury ended that dream, but I may have my facts wrong.

He is one of the finest men I know and a great motivator of young men. I am really glad my son got to play under him and hopefully will make the team next year, again.

Went to the Sunkist Shootout last night... Watched LCA and North Caddo in both semifinals...

LCA is loaded with likely 4 Division I players. Greg Williams Jr. is nice for a sophomore. Hope he grows a little bit more and he may have an NBA future. I was more impressed with the twins that play guard for them. Forget their names but #11 shot lights out and #30 was a real force when driving the lane...

However, Robert Williams for North Caddo is the real deal and I was talking with the asst coach and he was telling me how dude wasn't even getting a look from Johnny until A&M was recruiting him hard and then he blew up in EYBL last summer.

Coach said he reminds him of Amare Stoudemire in high school when he was recruiting him and even before we spoke, I immediately said the same thing after the 1st quarter against STM, but with better range as he knocked down a few threes as well. Dude will be a NBA player. Book it.

How LSU let him slip thru the cracks is beyond me when we need bigs, to begin with. Honestly, Williams probably could have started on the blocks with Victor next year because he is definitely better than Epps and Robinson right now. He is a gazelle, shot blocker like Jordan Mickey level, capable defender and will only improve. I'm thoroughly disappointed this kid is not going to be in P&G.

Probably because he plays on an Adidas AAU team. That's how things work in basketball. If you see a kid in Louisiana choose Miss St or A&M, it's because they're been brought up Adidas.

Just don't bitch about it, because Nike is a big reason we have Blakeney.

The twins are Kaleb (#11) and Jacob (#30) Ledoux. both 6' 4" seniors. They signed letters with McNeese because McNeese offered both and they wanted to play together. Kaleb had offers from a few bigger schools, he's a better all around player than his brother.

LCA has looked a little flat this tournament, TBH.

The other D1 prospect for LCA is Caleb Starks (#2), the coaches youngest son. He's a junior (same class as my son).

Should be a good final tonight, North Caddo's size plus Williams will give us lots of trouble if the guys don't come out sharp. Unfortunately, I am now at work and will not be able to make it.

I was told by one of the guys at STM that one of the recruiters from A&M was there last night because Williams still has not signed his LOI. Not sure if that means anything.

Not just any recruiter from a&m was there. It was the head man Billy Kennedy.

Kennedy may have also have an in with the local coaches in Shreveport/Bossier area from his time coaching at Centenary.

Actually, now that you mention it, the guy told me that. I wasn't certain if I recalled that correctly so I didn't post it.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Vivian Louisiana is actually about the same travel time to either LSU or ATM and actually a shorter travel distance to ATM. I'd guess that would mean the family is a bit ambivalent about either in terms of distance from home.
