You do know when I say college ready, it doesn't just mean power back right? Since the rankings were made, there have been plenty 5 star top 3 RBs and a couple #1RBs built around his height and weight that looked similar to him as seniors. Did you watch his highlights? He broke tackles, not the typical 100 that we see from the usual 6'0 220lb+ RBs we've been getting, but he's only a sophomore, and is already over 190lbs at 5'11.

Sorry, i didn't mean he wasn't ready as a college back...

All I'm saying is, someone like guice has the same acceleration and vision, but can break tackles or spin on the go. Guice has the real potential to be a first through third down back.

This kids highlights remind me a bit of russell shepard. that isn't a bad thing, but it confines him to a third down back role. he is great in space, and when playing inferior teams he will have gaps wide open to make things happen.

that said, just in my amateur opinion, he would only be a situation back for passing situations. he could get open in the flat, work on a delayed handoff, or be good in a jet sweet.

I personally like the offer, i just see his skill set better as a situation back, defense or special teams.

that is no knock on him at all. i hope in time i am proved very wrong. Plus he is a sophomore and has plenty of time to grow and strengthen.

Russell shepards highlights on the run were unreal, but he never broke contact. He ended up as a great special teams gunner, and still plays that position in the pros. I would have loved to see how he would have preformed as a third down or spread running back had that been his position from the get go...

The 5-foot-11, 198-pounder plays for Langham Creek in Houston, Texas, but he is originally from New Orleans and grew up a Tiger fan.

“I’d love it if LSU offered,” Carter told Brian Perroni of 247Sports back on March 27. “I’m originally from Louisiana. I’m from New Orleans, the Third Ward. We came over after Katrina hit.”

Bring back our transplants.

Great vision for a sophomore! He runs trough, just that his vision allows him to avoid most head on collisions many on here prefer from their RBs. Its OK to have a RB every now and then that has a collision avoidance system installed.

Whatever he is, we don't need to only have 240 lb backs because Les thinks it's 1971.

Staff is already visiting him again today. They must feel like he might be close to committing.
