I original posted this in the LHSAA baseball playoffs. This is more of a post bragging on my nephew, Kade Passman. Does anyone know about LSU baseball commit Brennen Maddox from Fairview High School in Class B. My nephew is pitching against last year's state champs Fairview tomorrow. Monterey lost a close one to Fairview last year in the semifinals. I would like to hear about these two to see what others opinions are.
Monterey is the 1 seed this year. My nephew is 6'4 but only about 175 lbs but a great pitcher. He has touched the low 90's but sits mainly in the high 80's. really good curve. He didn't hit the camp circuit during the offseason or gain any weight so he doesnt have much exposure. He was one of two players to pitch a no hitter in last years playoffs with the other being Manny Miles.
He has no offers at the moment but he definitely has the talent to play college ball.
For those who have seen either play I would love to know more about what y'all think.
Monterey also has a really good pitcher, Jake Cooper who is college material also. Rare to have two pitchers of their caliber at such a small school.

If he's good enough...someone will notice
Otherwise he needs to send film to some schools

Not sure who the good travel teams are nowadays since I haven't played in about 5 years but if they're still around either put him on Louisiana All Stars or Louisiana Elite. If he's actually touching 90 and stands at 6'4 he'll be signed to a major D1 program in about a month of playing on either of those teams

Maddox's nickname is bulldog and it's pretty fitting. Comes from a good family

Okay, I can tell you that fairviews team is pretty good, both baseball and basketball. The Maddox kid plays both sports, and a damn good athlete. I haven't been able to watch many games this year, but in previous years I have. He's pretty quick, not too big, but a nice glove. Wish both him and your nephew luck!

The Maddox boy is legit. He could easily play D1 basketball as well. Scored over 20 points and snagged around 10 rebounds a few years ago, hanging in the post against Jarrell Martin.
Kid is about 6'1 I think.

I don't think you're talking about Brennen. He's class of 2016, while Martin graduated in 2013. That would've been a freshman Maddox against a senior Martin. It could've been Maddox's older brother, Tyler, because he was legit basketball player.

What grade is passman in?
He is a senior. He has the frame to put on more weight which he needs. He may be 6'5 now.

Pretty sure he averaged over 20 ppg and about 18 rebounds a game this year at 6'1.

Then I am right.
I enliven he was a freshman that game, but I thought Martin was a junior.

Get him in with Delgado or lsu e. They are power house programs in their divisuon. He can gain some weight and eventually transfer to tulane, lsu, etc

Sounds like he is struggling today. Down 3-1 after 3 innings. 2 walks and also hit two batters. Maddox reached on an error. Also 2 balks called on him already. Sounds like nerves. Only 2 hits but my brother said something is definitely wrong.
