While he certainly looks like a good player, he doesnt seem like a cant miss if we offered him 0 scholarship money. We tend to offer most guys at least a piece of the pie. Typically only the last few guys in a recruiting class usually have no scholarship money. Not to say those guys never turn out to be anything, Laird was one of those guys IIRC, but generally they are expected to be roster fillers.

Yeah, can't blame him. I'm not concerned about him, but I do remember reading he has a nice release and good arm for a catcher. Looking up his info now he seems to have added some size since last I remember.

He would have forever been a backup at LSU.

The kid can play. My son played summer ball with him last 2 years. Has an arm, speed and can hit. As for as WM with 5-5 stealing on him, well if pitcher takes 4 seconds to deliver ball, not much of a chance.

Are you a scout?

Nope, but I do know several scouts and recruiters that think pretty high of him as LSU undoubtedly did. Post seemed to be about how lack of scholarships caused this, not lack of talent. Didn't realize it was to talk crap about a kid that went somewhere else. My bad.

There isn't a women's sport that can touch football. So make it simple. X amount of sports offered for men and women.

How about count the cheerleading/golden girls as scholarships toward the total allotment? The NCAA keeps fighting this. The NCAA can screw up just about anything.

It would be tough because I'm sure teams have different numbers of cheerleaders/dancers. It would work in what I said, don't go by individual scholarships. Count sports period.

Life's not fair. We don't need 30+ conferences that play D1 baseball. There are haves and have nots.

Sure you do otherwise deserving players of similar talent level would be omitted. LSU nor any other school has a patent on can't-miss players.
