Smdh...why are these LA recruits obsessed with bama every year,if they want to leave the state why not go where they can't hurt LSU.I mean we did good with keeping bama out(recruit signings) last year ,but it just frustrates me that it seems that some recruits here(in LA)know they are picking bama but play games because they want attention. Sorry for the paragraph but I had to vent for a min lol.

It's the mystique Bama has from winning 52 championships. Why should LA kids want to go where they can't hurt LSU? They're just kids living their lives.

It's quite simple

Bama has won 4 Nattys in the last decade and could add one or two more before the decade is up. Meanwhile we've lost 5 straight to them, and played in trash bowls the last 4 years.

Saban is a legend. When he begs you to play for him, you listen.

What irks me is why commit if you are still taking visits and talking with other schools. If you still want see all your options, don't commit. I think that makes the entire process and the recruits look terrible.

It's Nick Saban. When Nick leaves top Louisiana kids aren't going to be drawn to Bama like they are now. That being said, just because a kid visits there doesn't mean he's pulling a Landon Collins. Landon was just a kid with really shitty character who for whatever reason wanted to string LSU along to the very end when he already made up his mind.
It seems like Cameron Robinson intended to do the same but was encouraged by someone around him if I recall correctly not to do that. A lot of LSU fans are so jaded on those two that it's doom and gloom whenever a kid starts showing interest in Bama.

And for some kids it's probably just a really hard decision because, if we're being honest, there is tremendous allure to being a top defensive player and being recruited by Nick Saban. Whether we like it or not, Saban is one of the top recruiters in the business. You can't blame kids for giving him their ear when he turns on the full recruitment.

And with THAT being said, I think Moses and Shelvin are both Tigers at the end of the day. The programs are on too even a level and with the recent coaching moves at LSU, you can't find a better staff out there, certainly not on the defensive side of the ball.

you might as well chill brother. before nick fricking saban this problem did not exist. the bastard cherry picks most of the southern states for top rated athletes and he maintains great relationships in Louisiana in particular. miles does an outstanding job in defending the state but it is what it is. NC's matter.

when saban leaves, their ship will return to port.

I'm sure this will ruffle some feathers, but many of the black kids in Louisiana that LSU recruits aren't as much "fans" of LSU as the people on this board. They didn't grow up living and dying with LSU football. Now that they are being recruited, they are primarily looking for the school that gives them the best chance to reach their ultimate goal, NFL riches. College football is not their ultimate goal like it may be for many other kids growing up as die-hard LSU fans. It's just a necessary step on the ladder to the top.

Now LSU has become one of those "destination" schools for top recruits. However, it's not the only one and like it or not, Bama has had more success than LSU over the last 8 years. Bama is just this generation's version of Florida St., Miami, Michigan, etc. All of whom got several great Louisiana players 20 years ago. There's no real love for Bama right now other than the fact that they are at the top of the college football mountain. Kids (from all states) don't really care about not "hurting their home state". They just want to go to the place they see as the best right now.

LSU still gets great players; does about as good a job as any school in the country in keeping it's great players in state; and is every bit as talented as any program in the nation.

at some point, les miles is going to have to beat saban.

that'll fix some of this.
