Exactly. People forget, but Kyler Murray also looked like complete shite at TAMU as a freshman, yet was a Texas high school legend. Now he's second in the heisman race, putting up better numbers than Mayfield did as a heisman winner in only his first year as a starter at Oklahoma.

Schedule 3 easy non-conference win and split with TCU, Tech, WVa, Iowa St, KSU and Baylor and you are bowl eligible. Do that and pull an upset vs Texas, Oklahoma or Okie State and you are a coaching genius.
If a young guy pulls that off at Kansas he’s leaving for a bigger job the next season. Someone like Les would stick around until he’s 70 to try to repeat. It’s not like you are being asked to split with Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia and Miss State. The Big 12 is a joke.

There was a lot of accusation on this board back in the day that Frank Wilson did the same type thing when he was coaching at Ole Miss and Tennessee. Don't know if its true either way but recruiting can be a dirty business for every coach involved.

Why would broke dick Kansas even consider GoodOleLess for their coaching position ? The program must have obviously bottomed out to even bring up poor old LESS. If he gets the job, it should prove to be funny to see his recruiting success, or lack thereof. No fertile recruiting grounds like here to have fall in his lap. It should make some absolutely stone cold nuts betting wise if it happens. Do it Kansas !

He should be here running wildcat with occasional throws out of it. Would do a lot more for his resume than getting beat out in Juco.
