Lafayette High best player is Jace Conrad. Only a jr. He's the one that led Lafayette Little League to the wold series a few years back

Definitely have heard the name, and I'm looking forward to watching him. Heard he's a ULL lean from somewhere.

Catholic has a big lefty pitcher, Scott Ashford, who I think is going to LSU-E.
He rarely see the field. Throws hard, but is wild. He's one of those "perpetual projects" that each coach thinks he can solve. But when you're a lefty and can clock at least 90, they're willing to take a chance on you.

Dutchtown will win it all!

Gautreaux is has excellent control, doesn't throw all that hard, but his breaking stuff falls off the table and I have seen him throw a knuckle "slurve"...curve/slider that is deadly..

And I am not a Dtown fan, jump a high school ump that saw this kid on more than one occasion.

WOW Barbe must be one of the best teams in America with all of the talent they have on their team.

What's their record?

Ought to be one hell of a tournament.
That's 8 pretty solid programs.

I kind of wish they would change the 5A format and spread it out over a couple more days and make it a double elimination tourney.

Barbe is 28-8 (9-3), is Cecchini back from his injury?

No, Cecchini can't even walk without hobbling a little right now. He's not going to be running anytime between now and the MLB draft.

BraveTiger225: Could you give me a little scouting report on Gavin if you see Barbe play? I would really like your thoughts on him.

Sure, I'll be at all the games.

Gavin hit a big three-run homer against Northshore, but I'm pretty sure he's more in the mold of his brother. Hit for high average, run all over you and play solid defense.

I'm hoping and am sure that he'll grow alot over the next two years. Don't know if he'll be a big as Garin though.

Another guy I'm looking forward to seeing is Stryker Trahan, Acadiana's sophomore catcher.

I know he'll be getting looks for football too, but this guy is an animal.

Hitting about .430 with 10 homers and is 6-1, 215 according to the roster.

Acadiana only has one or two seniors on the entire team, so they will be beastlike next year as well.

speaking of Barbe, when do Keenen Fontenot, Trey Quinn, and the Jordan Twins get there? Are they finishing 8th Grade?

Watch for Jace, but also take note of his little brother, Brenn. He's played really well as a sophomore. Had two bombs in their second round game vs. Denham Springs. Also on Lafayette watch out for Connor Smith. He should be pitching in the game tomorrow. He's got a higher ceiling than Jace (room to fill out and get stronger) but he suffers from inconsistency. About 6'3 190 hits can hit 90-91 with a good breaking ball but he gets erratic.

Also, Jacob Derouen, the catcher for Lafayette. about 5-11 180. He can flat out hit. and hes very fundamentally sound behind the plate. He's going play at La Tech next year. and Smith is going to Hines sp? JUCO in Mississippi
