I have been hearing that recruits from Louisiana leave LSU for Bama because they have beating us head to head lately. Since 2000, The series is actually tied 9-9. The current Bama streak began when a certain #1 safety, in 2012, committed to the Gumps. If they would do the research and see the LSU beaten Bama when our players stay home.

A) you are just picking a year to make it look good. certainly in recent years we have not been doing very well against the gumps.
B) Saban has good relationships with HS coaches in LA, and they are the top program in the country, its not hard to figure out why some kids choose to leave.
C)that certain safety had a good career at bama and is one of the best safeties in the NFL now. using him as an example may not be the best idea.
D) truth is, some kids need to get out of LA. they need a change in scenery to get away from whatever situation they are currently in - maybe away from a bad crowd etc. this isnt something that should be dwelled on too much.

Yes when LSU was winning most of the games against Bama, these Louisiana kids were babies, toddlers and at best just approaching junior high. Sure someone 30 or over understands your point, but these kids have a much smaller frame of reference.

I hate to break it to you as I am a Tiger Fan and I hate Bama and also not a Saban fan but...

Saban has coached in 15 of the 18 LSU - Bama games since 2000 for one side or the other. He has won 13 of the 15 games.

The actual numbers are pretty impressive and easily available, no need to just make things up...

this is a very myopic way of looking at it.... there are multiple factors in play (coaching, facilities, NFL prep, etc.), it's not just an LSU vs. Bama on the field thing... like the other dude said, Saban, who IS the best coach in CFB, has dominated LSU like no one else, so being from LA or not, players want to play for him... i understand that aspect..

i wish there were more state pride and want to play for the state school, especially considering LSU isn't exactly a bad program right now, but CFB has basically become a business, and these decisions have to be treated as such... i can't fault a kid for being straight forward about his intent to go to another school... he may have had some last minute questions, but he didn't make a huge spectacle of anything.... good luck to him, just not vs. LSU...

So sick of these posts. It's really very simple. Whip their mf'n asses on the football field for a change.

That's the answer. Btw, as long as we can replace these guys, idgaf where they're from.

A loss is a loss...but

Nobody has been closer to beating Bama consistently than LSU.

2012
2014
2016

Offense has been the key & I really feel we've fixed that. We shall see how the next 4-5 go.

When you are in highschool years are like lifetimes.
These kids we are recruiting now were 10 to 12 years old the last time we beat bama. Middle school was a long time ago to them.

As for the early to mid 2000s stretch: while we may remember those games well, some current recruits literally were not even at the stage of developing permanent memories yet. Do you remember games before you were 7 years old?

What I don't understand is their staff's ability to get these young men to
A) recruit like hell for them
B) string a competing school along to deter progress

More B than anything. Whether they do it on their own or not. If I were a parent and my child was asked to do that I would be livid and more than likely steer them away from that school whoever they may be. I'm not saying a school does it purposefully, I can't speak to if they do or not, but it happens with certain recruits from a certain school yearly it seems. Just mind boggling to me

Yet there's still an L next to LSU in the W/L column. It doesn't matter how "close" LSU was to winning, actually winning is the only thing that matters, and the most important thing that needs to happen to keep these kids in state.

Do you remember Charlie Strong had six secret commits remain committed to other programs until they all flipped on NSD. He did not want other teams trying to flip them if they came out as UT recruits. Karma is a bitch
