Sorry guys, bored on a Saturday morning so I am watching tape.

IMHO Louisiana doesn't have excellent Linebacker recruits year after year. The Southeast has treated us well however I really like the midwest for backers (CG3). Check out these two Indiana 2015 backers tape. Bilal is my favorite due to his speed and athleticism but Barajas is just violent and I love it!

Josh Barajas ILB 6-3 210 Andrean HS Indiana LINK
Ashmar Bilal ILB 6-3 201 Ben Davis HS Indiana LINK

Where are some areas you guys see great linebacker talent that LSU could start recruiting?

Perry Riley
Kevin Minter
Kelvin Shepherd

What do those 3 have in common, besides being the 3 best LBs we've had in the past 5-6 years?

they're all from Georgia, can you tell me the last lb we got from georgia? Better yet, outside of Kwon can you name the last great or top lb we got out of the Southeast?

Florida. With the work Raymond is doing that might be a viable option

Two years ago we had the best MLB, I can remember. When did Kwon become a top LB?

They hail from ga and were questioned by rantards about being 3* and lacking size.

Barajas likely commits to ND today.

Just scour the SE and Texas while looking everywhere for the top guys. Lots of quality LBs out there so just work and land a couple. We should be all over Malik Jefferson and should have been months ago. Not likely to get him but he's not the TAM lock most assume he is. Make him say no.

Yeah, man, illinois is not southeast? Did you miss this past recruiting cycle? The problem in louisiana is that there are not many big schools, and as such many guys who would be great lber prospects wind up at de instead. Sucks, but true, which is one reason texas, ohio and florida have plenty

RB too

Most elite athletes in the LB mold play RB in Louisiana

I would start right off of Highland Rd at McKinley High and take a hard look at Kirk Louis, a 6'2 235lb MLB, then head over to Claycut Rd, Catholic High and peruse Javahn Ferguson, both of whom would kill to be Tigers...

I hope we get get Javahn looks like a good outside linebacker prospect.

Playing DE makes it difficult to judge Javahn, but he is a good football player, for sure. Hopefully, we give these two young men a chance to earn an offer.

To me the best linebacker in the southeast is Leo Lewis from Brookhaven, Mississippi. However I think Arthur McGinnis from Warren Easton would deserve an offer based on the numbers from the Nike camp today IMO they were pretty impressive.

Layton Garnett 2016 from WM is going to be a good one. He has a mean streak and really stood out this year for WM. Big kid that seemed like was in on every tackle. He is white though and we know how well that goes over on the Rant. I posted a pic of him with Belton in the Patterson thread.
