Exactly. Why are people having trouble understanding this?
17 year old guys want you to think they are grown men who can make up there own minds. I was like that myself when I was that age.
If everyone around me was telling me I had to go to LSU I probably would have went to Bama just to spite everyone and show them I'm my own man.
It is what it is. I'm really not mad about it but just don't try and bullshite me into telling us that's not what it is.

I don't hate the kid, but he handled it wrong. It is what it is. It's not like LSU is going to hurt from this.
If you know, then commit. It's not like he's been to LSU a hundred times before. It obviously wasn't for the attention at LSU.

As I've said in other threads, we don't want any player who does not want to enjoy winning championships at LSU. Les has won with Saban recruits and his own recruits. We are in our Golden Age of Tiger Football. Let's celebrate and enjoy all the guys who want to be Tigers!!!

If you don't have the heart to play for LSU, then get the hell out. Like I said in another post, there are kids all over the country that would LOVE to rep the purp and gold that would normally not get the chance to (see: Jacob Hester, Tyrann Mathieu). They have the heart to play for this team.

I disagree here. What if he was 90% and wasn't ready. Maybe he wanted to hear LSU all the way out. Even sounds like he thought about delaying this commitment until NSD to make sure. The family not wanting him go played a big role but in the end his hear was at Bama.
ETA: If would have committed too early and then decommitted for LSU everyone would have been down on the kid questioning his character.
We lost him we have to accept it. No shady business, just was out recruited and it started 2 years ago.
Now he should have told LSU coaches Im leaning Bama you are 2 right now. He may have did that. Its not stringing along. he has that right as a recruit having everything thrown at him.
If an LSU coach comes out and says he played us link it and then lets talk.

Actually his mom was wrong for what she did. If i had a kid that wanted to go to another school and I wanted him to go to LSU i wouldn't play spoiler at his announcement. That was actually wrong.
I love her passion behind this but be real that he son in 6 months she will be rocking crimson and cream and in 5 years she will rocking Gucci and Marc Jacobs.

Listen. Im not one of those guys who is broken hearted about this. Hes an 18 year old kid and LSU will be elite with or without him. I refuse to let a recruit have any sort of bearing on my mood etc. Weve had 3 stars do amazing weve had 5 stars suck weve also had 5 stars do great and everything in between. Where he fits in is anyones guess right now.
However.
If he honestly thought there might be part of him that wanted to go to LSU then he should have given it a fair shot. Not just sit in the Lawton room with his girlfriend. The guy and his girl knew for a while. Whose decision it really was is anyones guess but from the way everything appears to me is it was his girls. Everything screams 18 year old puppy love where you and the girlfriend are right and everyone else is wrong. Its fun while it lasts and hopefully for him it does. If it doesnt he may have some regrets in a year or two. Congrats to him on having a fun opportunity to have an entire region hanging on your every word for a short while as an 18 year old. It has to be fun.

Yeah I agree. It was still kind of funny. Either way, people need to relax. We missed out on him. Time to move on. Good luck to the kid except when he's playing against the Tigers!
