Lack of DL recruits will stop us from contending for championships the next couple years

The lack of DL recruits the last couple of recruiting sessions is so strange. It used to be the other way around under Miles and Orgeron. We had DL galore but not enough OL. Now we can’t beg a DL.
That definitely has to change in order for Brian Kelly to survive long-term in the SEC. Successful SEC championship teams always have strong defensive lines. It’s an absolute necessity. Getting out-recruited by Ole Miss for DL is totally unacceptable. Hopefully Kelly can figure it out soon.

Need a solid DC to come in. This recruiting cycle will be really bad at the CB/DL positions

Defensive line is just barren though. Lack of a DL coach can not be understated.

FTR, our OL recruiting and talent were not the problem with Les. It was the crazy conservative, predictable scheme that only practiced passing on 'throw the ball Thursday.'

Have to disagree here. Recruiting an entire line of Guards and turning some of them into Centers and Tackles wasn’t a great philosophy for consistent line play. We also never had the legitimate depth that we will have next season.
