I hate to post news of this nature. I know this kid from Indiana really impressed coaches at the kicking camp, and I was hoping that he would commit to the Tigers.

I saw this in CBS College Sports.

Your logic makes some sense. I don't know how well UF is stocked with place-kickers, but LSU's roster looks a little thin for 2011.

How good is Drew Alleman? I know that he did a few kcikoffs during his freshman season, but he has not performed often enough to letter.

Christy definitely would have been the main kicker around here for 3 or 4 years, I believe. I was hoping that he would seize that opportunity at LSU.

I think its the case where they are confident with the kicking game this year, and maybe feel good about this guy for next year (rated #1 in the country)LINK . I think they liked Cristy, but with the ratings of the guy next year, and the possibility of Wing making it this year, it wasn't a big loss.

Camden, thanks for the video of the punter. He looks awsome. However, I am worried about place-kicking, not punting. Is there a Louisiana kid out there who is a great place-kicker. The Tigers will want one to replace Jasper. Is Alleman good enough to be SEC Caliber, and who will replace him if he is hurt?

Drew Alleman might be just great. I just don't know. I imagine he is Jasper's back-up this year.

And to think we could have had William Russ (Evangel's kicker). He wanted to come to LSU. In the end, LSU waited too late to make its push. Now guess who will be kicking for Texas in the first game of 2010 as a freshman. Right - Russ! Kick offs, punts, and field goals.

In case you have forgotten....

William Russ

Doesn't matter.

If he would have committed to LSU, people here would have bitched and complained about LSU offering a P/K.

Kyle is a great kid,but there is a top ranked punter in La. The kid has caught the attention of coaches at LSU ,has been pulled into the office at the last three camps there.Everything seemed set for an offer this year and they went AUSIE on him, he plays for ST LOUIS CATHOLIC, KRIS ALBARADO

We have had the opportunity to meet Kris and his folks at a couple different camps. They are all GREAT people! I believe Kris truly wants to play for LSU, and would be a great addition to the team. But you still need a kicker. in 2011.

Where does the Brad Wing NCAA clearing house situation stand right now? Is he gonna be at LSU eventually?

I think it's crazy with him being academically qualified, but some of his HS credits from Australia might not transfer.

I'm sure the kid is very intelligent. If the NCAA is gonna be a hard@ss about his Aussie credits. Then test him some way, I'm sure he would place out easily.

A Parkview Baptist grad, I'm sure unlike countless thousands of JuCo Hoopsters entering a D-1 campus with their questionable academia and grades, he'd gladly accept the challenge.
