So, lets pretend you are who you say you are. Serious question......If it turns out these kids are just using Kansas in an attempt to get Hull a job at LSU and these kids realize at some point this year that this tacky approach is failing and most of these kids end up decommitting, how will KU fans (the few that are actually aware of football recruiting news) going to take this?

Staying on topic with the thread, how about not bashing recruits this early in the 2018 cycle? This kid is already a 3-star, which means by simply being evaluated at that level this early he could blow up over summer and fall.

Nothing to gain by hating on Louisiana prospects, plus this kid has good tape/size.

ALRIIIGHT!

Kansas came into Louisiana and got a VERY EARLY commitment whose other options are ULL, UTSA, Nichols, SMU and Tulane.

Uh, this is news because????

Congrats.

I won't speak for Dave, but I'll same I'd be disappointed. I want meltdown or anything losing these kids because most KU fans are aware how difficult it will be for KU to keep them. Now I'll be much more disappointed if Hull leaves. He's brought in some good talent and obviously has a strong connection with kids in Louisiana. It'll be hard to replace him as a recruiter.

Now I find it really far fetched that these kids would be doing this to try and get him a job at LSU. What would be their benefit in doing that?

They will love the weather up there, especially the tornados. They will be impressed.

So the kid goes to Kansas instead of say, La Tech. Good for him.

The tornados are now in Oklahoma (global climate shift), it is 65 degrees today, we are 45 minutes from Kansas City...beautiful campus...on twitter we have @KUBoobs, hot women, there is a western part of the state with fat chicks like KState...KU is an 8 hour drive to Colorado. Getting Michael Lee on board last year was big.

We dont have hurricanes....some years we have 2 feet of snow..this year none. 70 degrees in January. Every game I went to in shorts. KU basketball is a bucket list item. Football is on the rise. Hull despises LSU and since LSU is the only P5 in the state, we felt it wwas time for another school to join.

Youre new to this so I think it's ok to give you a pass and enjoy the ride, its not everyday KU gets in the headline for football, that said come signing day for your sake I hope your recruiting guru has some back up plans.

i can't believe that anyone could seriously think that Tony Hull would become a coach at KU, almost 2 years ago now, then successfully recruit kids to KU, all for the goal of getting the RB Coaching job at LSU? It just seems so far fetched.

I personally don't expect that we'll hold all these LA kids to their commits. We've lost recruits before you know. Doesn't LSU lose kids who commit every now and then? There's a semi continual thread that pops up on JayHawk Slant Rivals board where posters complain about how kids don't respect the word commitment anymore.

If Hull quits and goes to LSU this year, I'll be surprised. But if we lose a few of these LA recruits to other teams, it wouldn't be a shock. Happens all too often with other HS kids ...

Don't be a bratty little twat.

I'm enjoying the humor in the situation.

You have a great memory for grudges, Dignan. Lester Earl, that's a blast from the past! 1997 ... I paid little attention at the time to the havoc he created for the LSU bball program. I just looked up this article online and he says that he misses LA - here's a quote;

"Time heals all wounds," Earl told the Advocate. "If I could start anywhere it would be here (Kansas) and gradually work my way back to Louisiana. I miss the crawfish etouffee every day. You can't find cooking like that anywhere else in the world."

Lester writes an apology letter mentioned here;

The NCAA act all innocent like they don't know about shadow boosters - it's hypocritical.

Things that seem like a good idea in your junior year, do not always seem like a good idea in your senior year.
