Green made comments earlier in the week about putting an emphasis on how the Tigers perform this fall under first-year coach Ed Orgeron. He’ll compare LSU’s campaign in 2017 to other programs vying for his commitment.

The top-18 prospect in 2019 clarified those remarks, indicating it’s not a matter of wins and losses, but the direction the program is heading under the new coaching regime.

“I think that they’re going to be real good with Coach O,” Green said. “I think he’ll bring some old-school type of football back at LSU and I hope that they do great this year.

“It’s not about that [wins and losses] at all; it’s about the progress. It’s not just about winning. It’s about him building up the team and building the program up more. More wins are going to come if the team wants to fight for him. I want to see how the team jells together and how he can put a team together and work with them. It’s not all about winning, but it is about winning at the same time.”

Here's one for the Grimes haters.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound 5-star lineman has remained loyal to his inaugural pledge and continues to root for the Tigers to hold on to his commitment through National Signing Day 2019. You can chock that up to offensive line coach Jeff Grimes.

“Coach Grimes is an awesome man,” said Green. “I have a great relationship with him and I’m building it up more with him and getting closer to him. I’m feeling really comfortable with him right now. I’m still committed with him and I’ve been committed for a while, so he must be doing something right.

If this kid stays on and we have a strong outing with Coach O at the helm. Then the 2019 class could be Goat easily.

Exactly what I've been saying. It's not really about wins and loses its more about if this team is having fun while winning or competing like a champion in a loss. In the past you saw dead sidelines, guys just looked defeated out there. I think that's going to change, guys after a loss saying something like well we gave them hell, we played a great football game, they played a great game as well, we just ran out of time with a smile will go a long way even in a big loss.

At the same time of course these recruits want to win but aren't necessarily making a decision based off of that alone. They want to have fun but have a chance to win a championship also. This guy committed because he really believes O is going to bring that to LSU. He's hearing the negetive recruiting now so he wants to see for himself before making the decision final. Smart guy IMO but you committed so stay until LSU gives you a reason not to believe any longer. We need these guys on the OL. LSU must look at the very least like they are trending upward and having fun this year for us to start beating the Elites for these type of prospects. Aub, FL, Bama, Tenn are the games this staff need to have perfect game plans for this year. GT

Articulate young man with great leadership qualities. We'll be lucky to have him.
Too bad that a leading prospect that is currently being recruited thinks he knows more than all the "experts" on this site.
Come on down Kenyon and help O and staff build a dominant program.

Isn't that why Miles was fired?

Yeah.. I see O bringing a more new school approach to the old school ways of LSU. Still power run concepts with more moving parts to make it easier to move the football. Then creating space in the passing game with mismatches. Lots of misdirection, fakes, to slow down defense's putting the offense in an advantages position. Creating confidence within the entire offense then build momentum throughout the game or drive to score more TDs.

Put lots of pressure on the opposing team to perform at the highest level in all phases which will create mistakes for our defense to take advantage of. Then hit them with a trick play or two when they aren't expecting it. Total domination of the football game testing their will in a much different way then the last regime. Well that's my hope anyway lol HTT

KG and KT would be nightmarish for SEC defensive lines

Sounds like a smart kid making a smart decision. He's also a great player, so I hope the Tigers can impress him!

Maybe old school football to him is 90’s-2000s Miami

Yep. Any more old school and the offense wouldn't throw forward passes.
