[Does anyone know if Tommy Karam is related to George Karam, the head of the medicine program in Baton Rouge? If Tommy is a better, more enthusiastic teacher than George, I'd like to see it. They look a lot alike.]

Tommy and George are brothers. Great family.

Not sure why the parents stayed home during the A&M trip.

The quote I pulled was by KY. Maybe it's just games he is playing but I think A&M is the team to beat. It's obvious that KY recruitment is about more than just the kid for LSU. We are seeing the rise of Texas A&M recruiting.

The rise of Texas a&m recruiting

We shall see.....only rise I've seen in in rushing and passing for and against.

I'm just saying that Texas A&M has become a real threat to us in South Louisiana. IMO this has to do with Johnny "Mania" and the fact that Summerlin can recruit. The worst thing that can happen is kids in the area thinking it's just cooler to go to College Station. In the 80's and 90's this was the problem we had with Florida St. and Miami in New Orleans.

The New Orleans kids are never die hard LSU and we have never "locked" the city down. Still, Texas A&M is something different that has to have the coaches uneasy. What does it tell you if they pull Speedy and Kenny out of LSU's hands?

if what was being said on here the other day about aTm, Speedy and drug testing, or the lack thereof, I'm not sweating losing him.

I'm wondering about elite athletes leaving LSU to Texas A&M?

How often did this happen before Summerlin?

You actually believe our recruiting class is better or much better than Texas A&M? Because we can go down player for player and it's damn close.

No it isn't besides Miles Garrett they lack major talent at safety and linebacker.

They are top heavy at wr already but still lack a real sec rb that you can depend on to grind.

They got speedy.....awesome for them but we still dominate them in defensive talent and that's what matters.

They are an sec recruiting machine now....but their culture alone will detract a certain type of player.....

The rise isn't real.....they have stuff to sell now.....SEC, Wifi stadium, heisman, sumlin.....

Still not worried about them taking defensive players in louisiana.....

Kenny young May go to a&m....but he can't be comfortable at night knowing where their defense currently sits in the pecking order.

If the kid wants to play early then A&M is a great option. Just look at Florida and the recruiting going on. This is because those younger kids know they have a shot to play. The same thing with A&M. Their defense will improve over time.

I don't buy the argument that kids are in awe of playing on LSU's defense.

I am not buying your argument here at all. LSU puts players in the league and to think otherwise is retarded.

Whoever would have to say that is retarded. It's a given LSU puts players in the league. The point is that it's harder to get in the lineup on defense at LSU. Some kids are not down with the wait time.

I don't see that as having been the case the past few years. we've been playing a lot of freshman.

This is why we are better national recruiters than in state recruiters.

Think you are making their point for them. If you aren't pulling local kids, one of the big reasons to go across the country and play for someone else is that you know they can help you get to the next level, and you are willing to go a long ways to get there.

Pretty sure they aren't going across the country just to wear purple and gold
