247 is a weird place at times. This guy is steadily killing it at camps but they are constantly decreasing his rating. Bama is really high on him and we all know how this works(hint hint). Hopefully he doesn't worry about the ranking and continue to work hard.

if he changes commit to bama he could get the 6th star.

Best corner ever to come out of Louisiana if he switches commitments.

To commit to LSU early is to fall on your own sword in terms of star treatment.

He's still ranked quite high. Doing well at camps doesn't make you a 5* prospect. Being pushed down to a high 4* is hardly an insult.

True.
but the point is that high LSU commits consistently drop, lower Bama commits usually rise in rankings. There are quantitative facts backing this up.

He hasn't been killing it at camps. Anthony Cook and Jalen Green and Caden Sterns have been killing it at camps. I personally like him at safety at the next level.

I think this is the time of the recruiting season where 247 makes updates purely on camp performances and testing.

Not quite. There isn't an absolute rule. Kids have benefited from an LSU bump quite often. Micah Baskerville got a huge boost after his commitment. Damone Clark has a decent bump. Caden Sterns got bumped two months after he committed.

Alabama only has 3 HS kids committed for 2018. One hasn't been adjusted, one got a bump, and the other got dropped some. The idea that a kid get usually gets boosted when they commit to a big school makes sense, but it's more correlation than causation.

He did get an invitation to the opening finals in Oregon from the N.O. Regional. That was barely 2 weeks ago.

That's because the Bama recruiting services refuses to let Saban lose in anything.

You can't post a comment on this board defying the Bama bump! What we're you thinking?

You are absolutely spot on. Kids move up and down no matter what school they are committed to. Next I guess we will be talking about the Buckeye bump because their kids get bumped a lot as well. Maybe the coaching staffs at those 2 schools know a little bit about evaluations.

Joseph dropped because other kids rose at CB. It's been said quite a few times by scouts that his future may be as a S. If that's the case then a 5* ranking as a CB is gonna be hard to maintain. 2 different evaluations. By most accounts Corione Harris outperformed Joseph at 2 different camps yet I don't hear the 5* chatter about him. Wonder why.

Sterns is rated a 95 and 3rd in the state of Texas by 247. I'm looking at the ratings not the rankings.

Some guys have been getting rating bumps because of the camps and testing numbers, guys like Micah Baskerville, Brennan Eagles, Terrace Marshall, Anthony Cook, Harold Joiner. When their rating goes up obviously their ranking goes up and they jump other players.

What does your post even mean? I understand that your aim is to shoehorn as many political talking points into a recruiting post as possible, but the result is a gobbldygook string of words that doesn't mean anything.

Who was the 4* recruit that got a bump to 5* after committing to bama, then dropped back to a 4* when he decommitted, but then went back up to a 5* after he recommitted? Was it hootie? That was hilarious.

It means most of the recruiting services are Bama owned or Bama wannabes. So just like they mythically have 94 no#1 classes in a row. It is mostly bullshite reporting. KJ is a top DB committed to LSU. That the services who have an agenda, just like CNN and their these bullshite service. They need to shite on this young man and his abilities. I just ignore their opinions and trust in the LSU brand. See the NFL. That is the post recruiting service I subscribe to. So fake news is fake news... See the comparisons?. :

Oh and GFY..
