Kansas FB coaches having pep rally in New Orleans

What kind of recruiting tactic is this?? Heard commercial on espn radio they're having a Football Bash for kansas fans at Barcadia in NOLA May 12.

Heard the same thing. Big waste IMO unless they are scavenging what LSU, Bama, and every other major program decides they don't want .

Kansas is the football recruiting version of that guy who some drunk girl makes out with at the bar even though she's out of his league for a free drink, then he spends the next year following her around obsessively and trying to run into her everywhere she goes because he thinks they're in love. I wonder how long it's going to take Kansas to fully get over the small amount of attention they got from a few New Orleans 4 stars almost 2 years away from their signing days lol

No offense, but why not do it? The NOLA area has a lot of good HS football players. Sure, it's very unlikely Kansas would sign any of the blue chip prospects out of the area, but it's not like LSU is going to sign every single good player out of the area. They can't simply based on numbers alone.
Hell, I applaud KU for trying to put more talent on their roster. It's not as if they have been (or can be) competitive by just recruiting Kansas-born players alone. There are many good 3* players and some 4* players in the area that LSU just can't sign. If KU somehow even gets a few of those guy to play for them then I would think the extra attention paid to NOLA would be a success

I doubt recruits would be allowed to attend anything like this and it's probably not put on by the actual school. Saban would have been having parties in towns for the past decade.
