Because they didn’t go to Bama. They took a star away from Howard once he signed. What changed?

Hey, it's their fault. If they wanted to be 5 stars, they should have gone to Bama.

PS: for some of you, that's sarcasm.

All you need to know is before Howard missed action with his injury, he was #1 IN AMERICA

Now 247 is lowering itself to the level of other sites who have automatically raised the ratings of recruits who sign with Bama and lower the ratings of those who don't.

247 is trying to lose its credibility.

Yeah, let’s ignore how a player actually performs in games and camps. Let’s rate him on his arm length.

A couple of years ago prior to the NFL Draft there was a guy who was being criticized by some of these “geniuses” about his hand size being too small for an NFL QB. Some people thought it made perfect sense and that it should lower the QB’s draft status. His name is Joe Burrow.

This kind of schitt is why these recruiting services are a joke. Whoever actually believes this BS is naive. Are we going to have arm length rankings now? This is too stupid to believe yet some people will act like this is valid and ignore actual player performance. Idiocy.

Having Bryce Young as a 5 star was insane. Kid didn’t weigh 170 pounds with rocks in his pockets. Put his scrawny arse on any other team and he looks like a dog shite QB. One of the most overrated QBs I’ve seen in a long time.

Wrong!

No it's not.

Lsu would've taken all 3 of preston, anderson, and law.

Something else that stuck out to me about On3 and their Louisiana rankings. Mr. Football and Gatorade Player of the Year Landry Lyddy is not even ranked in the top 50 in Louisiana?

Didn't know Donald was a OT

Campbell probably plays inside in the NFL but he will be a stud college OT

Being LSU needs depth almost everywhere on the team and the WR Room is probably the strongest on the team I seriously doubt LSU would bring in 3 additional Freshman WRs (LSU already had 1 in the class) whom none may actually play in 2022 from this critical 32 scholarship class.

WR is the last position LSU needed numbers at and LSU is simply needing players at other position far more. LSU would have taken 1 maybe and I mean maybe 2 but not 3. No way.

In Louisiana’s 2023 class there are another 3 Top Notch WRs in Shelton Sampson, Omarion Miller, and Harvey Broussard. So should LSU not have a spot or for them? WRs are going to be here in Louisiana every year and I bet Shelton Sampson is better than any of them in the last 2 classes.

LSU needed players who can play right away not sit the bench behind Brian Thomas, Kayshon Boutte, Malik Naybors, Chris Hilton, Jaray Jenkins, Jack Bech, and we may have Deion Smith returning as well along with Kyren Lacy from the Portal and Landon Ibieta in the signing class. That is 9 WRs on the team. Another 3 would be 12.
On a roster that needed to address so many other positions LSU simply could not take 3 more who probably will have very few plays if any next year.

It could be the fact that arm length is a horrible deciding factor on whether a tackle will perform well when they are 33" or more. 33" is baseline while 34" is ideal but the extra inch does not make you a better tackle. Rashawn Slater was not drafted by the Carolina panthers because of his 33" arms and all he did was perform to the point of making second team all pro in his rookie season for the Chargers. Penei Sewell also has 33 inch arms. He was only considered the #1 tackle coming out of college and selected 7th overall in the draft. Using that as a reason to drop a tackles recruiting grade for College is retarded.

Aaron Donald was ranked a 3 star by rivals. Limited D1 offers.

People need to stop worrying about the stars behind recruits names and put faith in the coaching staff being able to accurately evaluate recruits.

There are other players like Donald out there. You don’t want to be the team that passes over them because of what some recruiting service has to say.

This is not even close to the same thing

Campbell is still a top 100 recruit. Nobody was saying he shouldn't have been recruited

Also stars do matter a lot - just because you can cherry pick certain players that made it big as 3* or lower doesn't mean that the recruiting sites don't have a clue what they are doing

Hey I understand. But at this point who cares what they have Campbell rated at? No one wins a trophy here based upon the star power of their recruits by a recruiting service.

Our coaches know what they have and in the end that’s all that matters.

In the end it’s all up to coaches to do a good job of evaluating. The stars are a way to identify players to look at. But the coaches should be doing their own evaluation of players. That’s all I was saying.

Seen a few 5 stars that never amounted to much in college.

I have seen people get all upset because we offer some 3 star player in the past. Got to trust the coaches.

In Louisiana’s 2023 class there are

You still have 4 or 5 spots left.

They would've taken anderson, preston, and law. They already used a spot on lacy and ibieta Drop lacy and ibieta and you have anderson and law. Preston would've been the 3rd.

The simple truth is that subscriber recruiting services are in to make money, absolutely nothing else and everyone in business knows it, which is why coaches don’t give a shite about them. 247 is a break away from Rivals which everyone knows is mostly bama subscribers.

That’s why you have the bama bump. They go to a few big camps and look at who is recruiting them. Anyone on here could do that. There is absolutely no penalty for being completely wrong etc. Not accountable for anything

Didn’t we only offer Ibieta after Anderson, Law and Preston committed to Bama. We would have signed all 3 in a heart beat then no room for Ibeita.
