Kid was just named as a top 15 player at the Rivals camp in New Orleans. He already holds offers from Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, Baylor, and Ole Miss to name a few. Yes I know an in-state offer is worth more for a school to give out but I am just scared we will be too late to this kid.

Thoughts on his talent and/or LSU not offering YET?

There's, what, about 11 months to signing day?

This. Wait till he gets into LSU's camp this summer. Then start to question.

We'll offer & he'll commit to us

Just hold your horses !
He is good friends with Donte Jackson as he goes to the same HS that DJ went to..

We always have to be more careful about offering in-state prospects than the out-of-state schools because they can pull those offers or "process" guys with little-to-no repercussions whereas doing so could have severe consequences for the local program. Other schools are the same way with their hometown kids while they throw around offers all willynilly to kids from other states. Rest assured, once he gets to camp, our staff will do work.

this isn't a new thing. Unless its a 5 star type-product, they always play the in-state offers a little slower. You have to be sure you can take the commitment because the Louisiana guys are more likely to want on board immediately and its not good for maintaining relationships with high school programs in the state if you're offering guys and not taking them if they want in. once they get him into one of the camps this summer, they'll work him out and decide if he's a take. if he is, then he'll get an offer. they're handling it the right way

I understand what you're saying, but it puts you in a bad position with the kids. When out of state teams offer them their sophomore/junior years and you wait until during or even after their senior year, many are done with you before you even get started.

Just the way it is. Remember Caleb Roddy? He was committed to Arky for a while, but when LSU offered he committed on the spot. If the kid has LSU in his heart, the timing of the offer won't matter.

You can't offer everyone in the state. Taking a wait and see approach happens to a lot of in state kids. Give it time, if Clarke is good enough he will earn that offer. In the meantime, go take visits and see what is out there.

Someone should ask them what the difference is between the scholarship that Foster Moreau got and the one that Kevin Toliver got.

I don't mean to be that guy but the other guys Aranda has offered have much more impressive hudl film. I think Clarke has to really impress the staff at the LSU camps but I guess I wouldn't be surprised if he received an offer this spring. Check the film of some of the guys that already have offers and compare..

Dylan Moses
Chris Allen
Levi Jones
K'lavon Chaisson
James Houston
David Adams

Also keep in mind the 3-4 scheme transition and notice some of the position changes on the current roster. For example, Donnie Alexander and Devin Voorhies getting looks at Will ILB, Divinity and Riley at Sam OLB, Arden Key and Bower at Jack.

That's why Archie and Jughead never got LSU offers.

Offering Louisiana players later has never had a big negative effect on LSU. You're simply wrong on that one.

Bert has talked about how with in-state kids you have to be 100% sure about offering them. Offering them without doing all of your homework and then realizing they're not a good fit and rescinding the offer is a great way to burn bridges in your home state. For out of state kids it's not as big of an issue. I imagine it's a similar thing for Miles.
