Not complaining but it is tough to keep those out of state guys committed and then some in state guys end up leaving... Then when those OOS guys de commit we are left in a hole.

I have to disagree with you. We lost Hunter, Davis and Marsh. But we kept Ware, Gore, Worle and Maclin and finished up with Boone and Ferguson.

People concentrate on the negatives too much. You have to go for the best talent available to you, no matter where it is. I don't hear people complaining about us going after Montgomery, PP, Sheppard, Barksdale, Minter or Baker.

Also, I don't know about you but I forgot all about Marsh on signing day. And guys from several states away helped me forget about him

Free Scout article on Joseph Morrow

Keeping in mind this article was posted on March 14... how quickly things can change
quote:

Is Joe leaning in any one direction?

"No sir. All of the schools are pretty much the same right now. If today were signing day, and I had to choose, man that would be a hard choice. I would probably lean to Auburn because my parents liked it so much on my visit and I did too."

Who would he pick Auburn over?

"Ole Miss would be second, probably USM third, Alabama fourth, and MSU would be fifth."

I know everyone on here is saying we take 3 WRs, but do you seriously think we would turn this kid or Sylve away?

As I have said before, I hope we stay in state at WR this year and take 3.

According to Billy Gonzalez, if possible, LSU will take 5 WR's this year. TIFWIW, but he was telling the WR recruits this at JR Day.

I hadn't heard that, but I sure hope it isn't the real plan. That is too many considering the numbers and talent at other positions.

Nope but I think that we could switch Lewis to DB perhaps.

Think about this:
Landry
Morrow
Sylvie

Those are the three types of WRs every offense needs. Slot guy, Red-zone guy, and the all-purpose physical guy. (of course they're all cross-trained and can switch roles) But that would be perfect.

As far as Gonzales. I don't know if it was "Recruiter-speak" but he kinda trashed our WRs corps in the Morrow article (rightfully so or not.........I don't know). Basically said all we have is skinny guys and walk-ons.

Personally, if you can talk some other elite guys into coming here and making sure that we still get sylvie and especially Landry, I'm all for it.

Have to disagree. I watch him, and I see DeAngelo Peterson. I'm guessing if he comes to LSU, he'll become a hybrid TE/WR type, and I'm all for it.

Im good friend's with Morrow's basketball coach at Ocean Springs, and he told me that Morrow is going to LSU this weekend with LSU signee JT Dickson from Ocean Springs. My buddy thinks it will between LSU and Bama as to where Morrow goes.

Ohh ok sorry, I talked to my buddy this past weekend and he told me this info. I assumed that Morrow and Dickson would be going to a LSU function over the weekend.

Buddy also told me Morrow is interested in Oregon. Could we see a Lache 2.0?

No problem. I don't doubt that's what he said. I was just tellin ya what happened.

Oregon sure is appealing more and more these days it seems to guys.

By the way, I was wondering the other day, what's happening with Montrell Conner these days?

Yeahhh...no way. We have like 20 spots at most and he's saying we fill it with 25% WRs?

He redshirted this past season and got stronger and learned from All SEC RB Anthony Dixon. This spring he is in a 3 man race for the starting RB job he has bulked up to 227 lbs

Good to hear. Hopefully he has a great career except for 45ypg against LSU and maybe 1 or 2 fumbles per contest.

We're taking at least 4 wrs this year.We have Landry,Lewis and Sylve(should commit)instate with close to 10 or more OOS offers out.No way the staff is offering that many OOS wrs if they are only taking the instate kids.Makes the Metoyer thing that much more puzzling. We'll see what happens.

Last I heard he had bulked up to over 230 and is running a 4.4. Expected to compete for the starting RB role this season.

ETA: beat me to it
