Not really sure. I don't know what the kid's plan is at this stage. His commitment was a surprise and I expected him to go public shortly afterward. I'm assuming it will happen very soon.

What are the general feelings towards the Plaquemine coach since his stunt?

Mixed feelings. On the one hand, I get that he's trying to get his own team fired up and give an "eff you" to the circus this process has become. On the other hand, there are actually folks who make a living off this stuff, so I could see how it's a slap in the face to them.

I guarantee you this didn't "fire up" most of his teammates. He could have done this privately in the locker room.

And as far as the circus, he's the ringleader. It's his own fault.

Grown men "following" a 17 yr old kid on Twitter is just plain pathetic, if it's not your profession.

It really bothered me. I find it hard to fathom that a kid could be exploited and used like that by his own coach. Todd took the brunt of the backlash and it's a shame. He is an outstanding kid and he deserves better than that. I get what the coach was trying to do, but think it was a bad idea altogether.

I challenged him on it and he didn't take it well at all. Zero accountability on his part and that was even more disappointing to see. There were likely over a dozen people who had to step away from their families, drive to the school, work the phones etc. in an attempt to do their jobs, which he shows zero regard for. He made it obvious that he doesn't think highly of people in this profession. It's also clear that the logo on their helmets and paycheck he receives trumps protecting his kids. His personal attack on me through DM's was gross, to say the least. Classless.

Thanks for the feedback. I was looking specifically for the reaction from those in the industry and you provided that.

What's difficult about the situation is that there is no way to hold that asshat accountable that doesn't ultimately hurt the kids.

Jimmy,
If Stevens comes aboard next Monday, is Harris still a take in this class?

So we took the Boom timeline thread and turned it into another bash Harris thread. Smh

You only have yourself to blame.

Please link my posts where I bashed Harris, or even mentioned him at all.

Call it what you want to call it. I was targeting you but NONE of you were singing his praises your truth or not. Still an inappropriate thread for it.

I have a feeling that any media related people won't soon forget and writers have a much larger audience for the most part. If the coach starts having a rough time, it will be interesting to see some of the articles.

Disclaimer: I don't really care that it was done but my profession isn't reliant around sports reporting either. Nor, do I know the coach. I just think this will be an interesting dynamic to follow.

What does this have to do with anything? If you don't like Harris' coach being mentioned in a thread about another kid, how can you say with a straight face that we should be talking up Harris in a thread about another kid?

I used this thread as an opportunity to get feedback from Jimmy directly since I saw he posted. If you have an issue with that aspect, fine, but I don't really give a shite. He was here so I asked him a question. I never bashed the kid and no one else did either so stop your whining about something that didn't happen.

Jimmy just explained that the coach is to blame here. Nobody in this thread is trashing Todd. It's unfortunate that he got blamed for this. Now that we know the truth, let's move on.
