Miles can't hide behind the inexperienced QB excuse, he can't bask in the post NC glory, and he can't fire any more coaches. He has made his bed with Crowton and Stud. He must produce on the field this year or there is no convincing these guys that LSU is a premier program anymore.
He is out of excuses. A disappointing season will lead to one of the biggest recruiting meltdowns this program has ever seen.

Our recruiting has been great, 2011/2012 New Orleans book your reservations.

I think is overly dramatic. We could actually make big strides next year and have the same record. Our OOC schedule is freaking rough, especially when you consider we open up with a top 5 defense on the road. We have very few seniors playing next year. Our run starts the following season when the 08-10 classes start to gel. I don't see the top talent leaving this state in numbers any time soon.

And you do? Not being an arse, just asking if you know more about these recruits than the rest of us.

It is NOT good in any way whatsoever that a recruit is committed and then takes other visits.

No spin needed. IT SUCKS! Look what we did a couple weeks ago with "committed" kids who took visits here.

Not trying to spin, but there is one key difference b/w the guys we turned and either Landry or Hill....none of those guys were committed to schools in their home state.

Miles keeping Crowton could end up costing him his job if he loses a few of these in-state guys.

Crowton is probably a non issue as of next season... either LSU improves on offense and Crowton is no longer considered much of a negative... or it doesn't and he's fired

Copeland, had the entire coaching staff replaced at the school he was commited.

Boone, almost the entire coaching staff changed where he was commited.

Foobs, ended up getting the love from LSU he always wanted and switched back to the home school.

You really don't know what you're talking about, there is nothing to worry about with Hill.

In addition to LSU, Florida State and Alabama, Hill is also interested in Oregon, Miami, and Mississippi.

What the hell is the fascination with Oregon all of a sudden?

Relax all of you panic tards. He will be a Tiger. The kid probably wants to visit some schools to get treated well. He'll come home at the end.

Pretty dumb thing to be in a kids top 3 considerations, IMO.

Are Oregon's facilites SO much better than every other schools that a recruit would be dumb enough to pick UO based on that?

Hope not.

winning

Winning what? They lost to BSU & Stanford (both in embarrassing fashion, I might add) in a season in which USC imploded and which was also one of UO's best seasons EVAR, and then went onto their first Rose Bowl appearance in almost a decade only to get anal-raped by the Big 10.

That's not "winning", IMO.

pac 10 getting stronger

LULZ.

The Pac-10 has done nothing to get appreciably stronger in the past few years. Their shining star has flickered, and the rest of the conference took advantage in ONE YEAR!

While I agree that Stanford, UCLA, and Washington are on their way up (due to superior coaching and better recruiting), teams like ASU and (maybe) USC are on a downslide (betting on Kiffin failing, here), and WSU remains deplorable.

The Pac-10 hasn't gotten stronger as much as the Big 10 has gotten weaker in the public's perception IMO.

It's simple:

PUBLIC PERCEPTION:
SEC waxes Big-10 twice in NC games--> Big 10 in decline

Pac 10 moves into the #2 spot by virtue of the decline of the Big 10 =/= Pac 10 has "gotten stronger"

JMO though, lynx.

It's one thing for Landry to say he's committed to LSU but is just taking visits.

But he said his recruitment is open to anyone.

what schools did he mention besides LSU? Sure our offense is bad, but I would think he wouldn't have already committed to LSU if he was worried about it.

I don't see why he'd have Bama on his list...they can't even get to the ball to their best WR.

Hell, LSU may suck on offense but it doesn't seem to be slowing down the NFL in drafting our WRs high...Lafell could fall into the first round with a good combine.

has landry reopened his commitment? Espn says so

These recruiting sites try to create buzz, hits on their web sites, and interest...These all generate revenues through advertising dollars.

The people who are stupid enough to fall for this are idiots.

Hill and Landry committed on the spot when offered...end of story regardless of taking visits...that's what recruits do...especially kids from poor or economically disadvantaged families. Some of these kids have never even been outside of the borders of the state of LA.

This is all bullshite...

Its one thing for out of state commits to waiver and change their commitment. LSU has had only three in state guys do this in as long as I can remember. Two were at the end of the recruiting process (Jackson & Bell) and Davis had his offer yanked when he was caught in a lie.

Jackson had shaky ties to LA with a father that he knew was leaving the state and was playing games using his 5 star son to get an upgrade in coaching job while at McNeese. Jackson's lie to the LSU staff that he was still a commit was orchestrated to hurt the LSU program at the behest of another LSU hater Ed Orgeron and sleazy Lame Kiffen.

Bell appeared to be a basket case and will probably regret his decision. Ranked as the #40 @ his position, he was intimidated by the possibility of (the #1 WR recruit) Randle and Benton both committing to LSU. He did not want to compete, but this decision is coming back to bite him considering LSU's lack of depth at WR from an experience standpoint.

LSU has had 43 LA kids commit over the last 3 years. 40 kept their commitment. 3/43 = 6.9%

Or, over the last 3 years, LSU lost 7% of the instate players that have committed. And, one of the three had screwy family situation, two were a liars, and one was afraid to compete and weak enough to believe Nick Saban who cans (yanks player’s scholarships when they are making their grades and are not discipline problems) his recruits for next years best and brightest.

I'm not worried about losing Hill or Landry...93% chance they stay committed....
