I remember seeing his times during track season and he was just behind Donte Jackson in the 100m during the state meet even though he got hurt.

But you gotta think somebody could use him and I haven't seen him get recruiting by anybody really.

He'll end up at ULL if I had to guess.

Agreed. I've seen the kid play. Kid is special. Only person to beat him in the 100m last year was Donte Jackson...and it was close.

I've seen a lot of good RBs come through Cecilia over the years. We've sent RBs to ULL, Tulane, McNeese, Nicholls, and several to JUCO. Calais may be the best of the bunch. The bigger schools are passing on him because of size, which I can understand. But any non-power 5 team that doesn't seriously consider this kid is crazy. He'll be a steal for whoever signs him.

I have seen the young man play several times and he is legit. To have no offers is just nuts. When he gets to the corner it's over. Legit 4.3 speed and even tho he is 170ish he plays much bigger then he is. He also has incredible hips. I think he would have a great CB in college. No offers makes 0 cents.

This thread has the lowest combined post count in tigerdroppings history. I am just here to help out the average.

OK so he's listed at 5'11 and 170lb from that article, with 4.3 speed and good at RB. At worse he's 5'9 165. It's not like he's 5'6 150.

San Jose St

Tyler Ervin
5'10 175lb RB (5th year senior)
3rd in the country at 641 yards and 9 TDs
Averaging 6.75 ypc

San Diego St

Donnel Pumphrey
5'9 170lb RB (3rd year junior)
Finished 2014, 4th in YPG and yards, at 1873 and 20 TDs
Averaged 6.76 ypc

Kent State

Dri Archer (Steelers)
5'8 174lb RB/KR
In Jr year he finished with 1429 rush yards, 561 receiving yards, 24, passing yards, 591 KR yards, and 24 total TDs
Averaged 8.99 ypc, 14.38 ypr, and 34.76 ypKR

Did he go to anything like the Nike sparq type things?

Tulsa or Bowling Green would be good places for him. Could definitely play in the slot in those offenses.

I was coming here to post this. This board said Turpin was too small last year. 6 catches for 138 yards and FOUR TOUCHDOWNS today against Texas. Yeah, way too small to play college ball.

Yeah, I know nothing about LSU's recruiting process, but you would have to think they felt they had athletes of equal caliber already committed to not offer him, not because there was anything deficient about his skill set..but again, I wouldn't know.

I saw him in the dome and he was a blurr...just noticeably faster than everyone one else, with the exception of 5* Tyron Johnson. It would appear obvious that he has found a niche at TCU (that he likely wouldn't have found at LSU) because of their system. Whatever the case, it's always great to see Louisiana HS football players excel on the big stage, ESPECIALLY as a true freshman.

Not picking on LSU, talking about the posters that said he was too small to play on a P5 team.

They're on 6'1" 190 junior Trey Coleman from West Monroe. He's visited ULL several times and they were at WM Friday to see him.
