Is this board over-anxious about LB recruiting?

LSU generally only played 2 LB's on the field this season and has enough depth at DB to consistently play 5 great DB's at a time. Thoughts?

It's true. But we play that bc we don't have much of a choice. We're not totally screwed like many like to think. But we no doubt have to get deeper at LB. One injury could screw us in a 3-4 lineup

Is Aranda's scheme not good for LB's to shine in?

It's almost like these guys don't want to play for a shitty DC or something, but Aranda's a genius. Is it the scheme?

LSU still needs some more lbs. Plain and simple. They NEED lbs. You've gotta have quality depth at that position to be a true competitor in the SEC, imo.

We lost 2 great LBs that grew up minutes away from Tiger Stadium. And we lost them to Bama. People are looking for a silver lining in that disaster.

We're going to end up with nothing (except Queen), and it will have devastating consequences beginning next year - but even more so the next 2-3 years. We are screwed if something doesn't change quickly. Almost mind-boggling that kids don't want to come here and compete at LB.

It's definitely a cause for concern because we don't have any returning starters and it only appears we have one SEC caliber ILB prospect to fill 2 positions. A note to make though is that due to our Dline being a bit undersized in Aranda's scheme we have had to ask a lot of our ILB's to do a lot and fight off blocks, fortunately we had 2 really good ones. If we can close this class out with elite DT talent our LB's will be fine for years to come. In the future smaller guys like Queen will thrive given the ability to run freely and make tackles with dominant Dline play.

It's time to improve our creativity in recruiting. Do what's necessary to acquire the services of these tremendous student athletes

I think next year Divinity and White start and Alexander and Voorhies back up. Good thing is the starters are So.'s but if we dont pull one or two more this year its just not good, no other way to look at it, eventually it will be a problem on the field

Look at the legit LBs LSU has coming back. I'm talking about real LBs and not blocking dummy roster fillers. Maybe 3-4 at BEST. This is why people are anxious. LSU needs some depth for the upcoming season and seasons to come.

Maybe people don't want to play for coach O??
Our coordinators are a big deal, but recruits want to play for head coaches. Recruits came here for Miles, but coach O is not a nationally known name.

Everything said has some validity, but we do not have a LB coach & are in danger of losing recruiting coordinator (a very good recruiter i e. Craig.)

The switch to 3-4 has us anxious. To maximize what Aranda wants to do, we need lbs.

False. How do you know they will be "great"?

Moses isn't the 5 star everyone thinks he is. Good athlete, yes. Linebacker? Horrible. His LB instincts are terrible and I'd take the upside from Queen before this kid. He'll be a special teams guys at Bama because of play making ability but will never be a key linebacker for them.

Great high school linebackers. Which is better than what we have committed right now.

I think Chavis and Miles sucked at recruiting LBs and we haven't recovered yet. We will do better next year once the new regime has a year under their belt.

Next year, we'll have 7 LB's for 2 starting LB spots:

Corey Thompson - Sr.
Donnie Alexander - Sr.
Devin Voorhies - Sr.
Rahssan Thornton - RS Fr.
Devin White - So.
Michael Divinity - So.
Patrick Queen - Fr.

eta: Look at the depth at OL, and it is much, much worse.
